For measuring the thicknesses of steel superstructures on bridges, I bought this tool. In this way, the spring-loaded mechanism keeps the jaws open unless the mechanism is activated. Due to this inconvenience, I find it to be extremely difficult to use. It's one of the few companies that make calipers like this and I understand the larger ones will operate as I expect. This one will be returned.
This is useful in measuring the diameter of a piece while it is being turned. However, if you wish to adjust the gauge to an exact dimension, there is no fine tuning screw in this device, as there is on other devices that have one Calibrators that use digital technology. With the screw, you want the arms to be held apart at the distance you want the gauge to be at, but since the arms tend to spread out, it is difficult to set exactly how thick they should be.
At $20, it seems like a good deal. I measured it against a slide caliper and found it to be accurate enough. It checked out fine at the 64th scale, despite my concerns it would not be accurate. I wired in place an alloy tire from a bread bag to secure the battery compartment door, since it wouldn't stay closed right out of the package. As I mentioned in my review, I gave it four stars. Although I am happy with the price, if I am going to use the tool on a regular basis to help make money I would consider one that costs tens of thousands more. Among all the things I use over the course of my life, I probably won't complain much about it if I use it a few times. Yeah, I had the chance to use it I am Jay.
My opinion is that it is a good value and highly accurate for most anything I use it for during the wood turning process. I like it. It's pretty good for what I'm looking for. I cover the display with my hand when I take a reading, and that's the only thing which hinders me. If you would naturally hold the email in the same way, you'd have to adjust the way you would hold it so that it won't be covered.
I like it! Once again, this does work, but it is not great, I suppose that's why I was shocked upon seeing.
The item is nice. It works just the way I need it to. Could have been a bit finer on the tips. There is no doubt that this is a right An item that is handed. I think lefties have a hard time with this.
As a cheap caliper, I like this one. The springs are designed to try to force the lock open, and a set screw holds it shut.
I have nbsp The device is easy to use and comes with a battery spare.
