Questions & Answers

The product is made in what country?

Although mine is Chinese, the quality is outstanding. It is probably my favorite thing that I have bought from China. If you dislike Chinese tools, then this is an exception that you should consider buying.

Only need the correct measurement of one piece of paper Is it time to buy something?

If you take the caliper you are looking at into consideration, the best benchtop micrometers will cost you far more than what you will likely wish to spend. I would recommend a 1 inch handheld micrometer (just search for micrometer and there are several to choose from) using a precision 10x caliper. Your goal would be to learn more about With these calipers, you will achieve a greater accuracy than with Micrometers can be used to measure a diameter of .0001. In the case of the weights of paper you referenced, this could be the scale of degradation that you In addition, even if you were to have multiple pieces of paper piled up to attempt to amplify the stack height and try to get an average thickness you would be approximating the actual thickness only. If you use this formula, you are attempting to approximate the lamination coefficient, which accounts for just how efficiently a piece of paper stacks compared to a known weight (density). Because air gaps are included in this hypothetical average thickness, there would be a higher result due to the gaps between the layers caused by the roughness of the paper.

Are there any automatic shutoff features on this caliper? I appreciate your kind words. ?

Automatic shut-off is supposed to be part of their design. When I won't be using the device for a long period of time, I remove the battery.

Can you tell me which battery needs to be replaced?

The CR2032 is used. It came with two spare batteries for each of the two units I purchased

The battery compartment can be hard to open
4/5

The first time after reading reports of people struggling to change batteries, I attempted to open the compartment only to find that it's locked. I have tried prying it up with the screwdriver, but nothing works. In the event that I am unable to open it, I may return it. In that event, I will let you know how it The update is Now that it is past the 30 day period and I cannot return it to Amazon, I can't send it back to you. My first attempt to contact the original seller did not help, but they kept saying to keep trying, that it may open up. In any case, I emailed Igaging to see if they will be able to do anything. If and when the company responds, I will update this. The final update is as follows I managed to open the damned battery compartment a few days ago. It is important to realize that you cannot pull out the drawer straight away if you are experiencing this problem. When you pull the drawer out, you'll be able to open it if you move it from left to right as you pull. If someone else had posted it, it might have been more helpful. I would have appreciated if the manufacturer had added this as a separate note so we could avoid it altogether.

We all know the good old saying that you get what you pay for
3/5

As a result of this IP54 rating, I purchased this caliper. This is an example of the old adage, "you get what you pay for. ". This caliper did not last more than a few months before it broke. In my contact with the seller, I was told it needed to be returned for warranty reasons. I received a response from the seller, and here is the A distributor of this caliper said that it wasn't designed to operate in any environment involving fluids and refused to provide a warranty. As well as being impossible to remove, the seller complained about the battery lid. Likewise, it was also a difficult experience for us. As well as many others, which can be seen by looking at The seller sent me messages and I finally reached out to Amazon customer service, who was able to refund the order.

Ten thumbs down for the cheap quality caliper and a thumbs up for the customer service on Amazon.

It is so very disappointing that the quality of the product is so poor
3/5

received this caliper today, and excited by the reviews, I thought I had a decent deal, however, as soon as I pulled the plastic battery tab out, the battery compartment was not sealed. Even removing the rubber seal doesn't help, as there is no positive click to indicate that the battery is locked in place. There is almost no latching mechanism to speak of, since the cover sticks out a few millimeters from the main casing. A big issue is the dust resistance as the battery is not sealed to the compartment and starts to work its way out, causing the digital screen to go dark.

The 7 Digital Caliper Roundup was determined to be the best for the under $30 price point
5/5

In this video roundup, I compare the iGaging EZCal to 6 other digital calipers. This video has been reduced in size and quality to meet Amazon's video size and quality limits. Watch the full video at my YouTube channel, GadgetClass.

The stock photos on Amazon need updating, since they don't really showcase this caliper. There is no comparison between the iGaging EZ Cal digital caliper and the Neiko and Carrera calipers in the under $30 price category. We found the iGaging EZ Cal digital caliper to be significantly more accurate and of better quality than the other two. If you compare the build quality and finish of the two of them side-by-side, there is no contest. In the polishing and finishing process, you can tell they went to extra lengths, as the result is a more sleek and professional appearance. There is also no doubt they maintain these to much tighter tolerances than their Neiko and Carrera counterparts. is no "slippage" or "wiggle room" between the measuring body and the ruling body, which is why this caliper impressed us the most when it came to accuracy and repeatability. The ability to. In addition to covering most of the measuring body, the display is huge. Over-all a very smooth experience All of them. Its bigger brother, the iGaging OriginCal, won the first place award because of its absolute origin feature, but I would trust the EZCal when it comes to critical measurements down to 0. 1 mm. Neither Neiko nor Carrera move at 2000 rpm, which I wouldn't say for the 0005. The pros include Over all, Good Accuracy is the best All of them. Exceptional design! Solid construction! This cute purse has many great features, including * It takes a CR2032 battery (comes with an extra battery) * It will not break on you* It has an IP54 rating for moisture and dust protection * It has a very big, clear display. This caliper has the largest display of all its competitors** Auto-adjusting Feature that adjusts for inactivity after a period of time
* Fractional measurement up to 128th
* Over-under measurement
All in all, this is the best $25 you can spend on an entry level caliper. There will be no automatic-translations It turns on as soon as your body starts moving. Make an informed buying decision by watching the full video series (this might improve battery life). What types of cameras did I review in this video?.

You've got me impressed, Color Me! The product is inexpensive
5/5

The quality is excellent. In order to limit the need for my good calipers to come from my office or shop, I wanted inexpensive calipers that I could use at the reloading bench. All of the cheap calipers looked the same. It is inexpensive. iGaging calipers cost ten bucks more than the standard Although they still cost almost a quarter of my good calipers, they're still more than adequate. These software programs are far more impressive than a quarter of the quality of software. The initial feeling was a bit stiff and gritty, but that wore off in a short time. I love their screens so much. They have all of the features of my expensive calipers, and they have a ton of functionality too. They can be read quickly in dim light, even for a person like me with There is an excellent tactile feel to the buttons and they seem to work well. It was quite simple to use, and it didn't seem weird to me at all. As far as basic operation is concerned, they are the same as In a couple of short tests, I found that the program was working. In order to zero the calipers, I first calibrated them. As a reference standard, I compared my measurements to my good calipers (see photos), and they were identical. In fact, I ran the calipers several times and the zero came back to zero reliably and the test measurements repeated exactly, so they appear repeatable and reliable. All in all, I am very The calipers I have are the best I could get for the price.
