Questions & Answers

Would you please explain to me how this vernier is read?

A vernier scale is a standard tool for measuring distances. There will probably be a Youtube tutorial on vernier scales, but here is the basic information. 1. On the major markings (stationary markings), identify the number that is just below or equal to 0 on the minor markings (moving markings). The inch markings are in 0. At the bottom of the scale are the metric markings. Each increment is 0.25 inches. 2) Locate where the lines on the major and minor markings line up, and read the value on the minor markings (in 0.1). In step 1, take the value from step 10 and multiply it by .001" for step 11 and fill in the gaps.

What is the difference between etched numbers and printed ?

An etched patch. You will be surprised by how high quality the product is given its price point. Do you know how to read verniers?

A stainless steel product does not exist. False advertising is a federal crime in the U.S., isn't it? The relevant section is section 52 of the 15th U.S. Code. ?

Various amounts of other things are present in metals (as are everything on the planet). In simpler terms, stainless steel is steel that has been modified to add chromium and nickel. Magnetic fields can be created by steel. For a stainless steel to be classified as such, chromium must only be added in the amount of 10%. The magnet retains its magnetic properties even though it contains only 10% chromium. In other words, unless you physically removed some of the material, had it tested, and then looked at a breakdown of its composition, you are not in a position to make claims like that. Imagining yourself as stainless steel will help you. Those are 10% more knowledge I just gave you. There are still 90% of you that don't know anything.

When you close your mouth, how long is its external jaw?

It takes 40 mm to read the outside, and 16 mm for the inside. A 5 mm reading on the inside. At the end, there is a precision cutout pattern of nine. There are 5 mm in length and 3 mm in thickness to the steel. It is quite typical for calipers of this type to measure these dimensions I can use them as a reference because they are exactly the same You can measure scales in calipers.

You should only use this tool if you know how to use it
5/5

The 3D glasses I bought are these A 3D model and 3D graphics In the future, I may buy another pair to give to my nephew and son to encourage them to keep doing the same thing. There were no flaws in the caliper I received, and I was impressed by the quality for the price I paid. Most of the complaints made no sense to me, and I'm surprised at the quality for the price I paid. These are written by people who have never worked in a machine shop, and only know how to measure things. It is fairly common for 'inches' to be broken down to decimals, and this is a common complaint I have seen. It's normal for machinists to do this A lot of my stuff came from my grandfather, who used to machine parts for Howard Hughes, among others, and you make traditional 'imperial' scales The tool may take some time to get used to, but if you want traditional scales, then this is not the tool Regarding your question about 'why there are four ticks,' here is my response It cannot be too much smaller in this case, because it is a manually read scale You can read further fractions on the right side of the page at the top. In this case, four ticks represents a 0 value. There is a difference of 0. 25 inches. It was the author of the comment who appeared to want 0 ticks, as he wrote in the comment. The math a machinist has to deal with to measure to that degree of accuracy gets more difficult after a certain point. If you can read the 'upper bar' correctly, then it becomes easier to make accurate measurements. I would like to add the thumbs up in this regard My point of view is different from yours. There are dial calipers that have a thumb wheel, but these have a thumb rest, and this has not been an issue as far as what I am doing goes. You might be able to get used to it with some practice.

It is a very strange product
3/5

I purchased a caliper for measurements of outer dimension, inner dimension, and depth. This product has a very strange quality but it is at a good price. This product purports to be able to measure in metric and inches, or my preferred option. Linear measurements of inches are divided into increments of "40" to the range of one inch. Though I haven't traveled much on earth, what type of unit of measurement does 40 inches to an inch mean? There is no metric system and there is no imperial system. It would be really difficult to convert everything from Metric to Imperial if I had to measure everything in Metric! The packaging was discarded, so I am unable to return the item. I find this really I find this really Please see the attached image for a demonstration of what I mean. It's Metric in the lower row, and I guess the upper row is in tenths of an inch, with each tenth of an inch broken down into 4 parts, for a total of 40 "ticks" per Who can explain this to me?.

The length is measured in tenths of an inch, not in I consider this to be a high-quality piece of equipment
4/5

In addition to measuring in tenths instead of the usual 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, and 1/64, I also wish that the dial had a longer scale. As long as everything else is This tool is quite inconvenient in my shop since all metric measurements are made in these customary increments. The description would have been more clear to me prior to buying it, if the description were clearer. The increments can be deduced, and if you look closely at the picture, they can be seen. As someone who is not familiar with the division of inches into tenths, I did not think to look it up.

Inches are not usefully measured with this device The gift I bought was embarrassing, since I bought it as a gift
3/5

One hundredth of an inch is the scale on the ruler. In any household, this is not a common scale. It might be used in the manufacturing environment, but is limited to specific environments The US is the most affected by this. Here is a picture of the attached file. This ruler has a scale of 1/32 inches, thus making it a useful tool for measuring inches. In order to be useful, calipers like this should have a scale of 1/32 or 1/64 on the inch side. There is no point in measuring something to the tenth or hundredth of an inch. A description of this product was not sufficient to tell whether or not it has a non-toxic component The scale is not useful, it is standard, and it has an unusual scale of measurement. The entire purpose of this product is to apply a scale of measurement to the objects we want to measure, so I would rate it as a total failure. Since I bought two of the items, I may grade them so harshly. The other is for my girlfriend as a mothers day gift. The only time I realized I had given her a bogus gift was when I tried to demonstrate it In my opinion, this was not a good reflection of It is still painful for me to feel the shame and humiliation I suffered The seller is to blame for my frustrations.

It is not possible to use the thumbwheel
3/5

As far as I can tell, the thumbwheel is present on this caliper. That's not true! A piece of metal attached to a wheel to make it look like a thumbwheel is nothing more than a waste of space. While the device does the job, it's a little hard to read, and when fine adjustments are required, a thumbwheel is missing.

Good value for the money
4/5

Buying these calipers was for a very specific purpose, which calls for the calipers to be installed on a permanent basis. I wasn't concerned about accuracy since these calipers will be mounted in place permanently. The accuracy and precision are surprising for the price, so I immediately sent them in to be measured. Surprisingly, both of these films are great. Vernier scales reliably read up to 0. If you know how to read one, they are easy to read. This scale can be read down to a depth of 0. 05 mm, and perhaps finer than that (ascale with a nominal depth of 0 mm is readable). A measurement of 01 mm and zero I cannot read the imperial scale (2. 001 in, but reading the metric scale is my worst nightmare). Throughout most of the scale, the accuracy is quite good There are two pairs of shoes I purchased that appear to be offset by 0. This is 02 mm thick. You've done a pretty good job there. While I like these, they are not perfect. The machining is slightly rough, and they do not have a thumb wheel to allow for precise movement. They only have what appears to be In any case, these are an outstanding deal compared to other brands. When you know how to read a vernier scale and need a reliable set of calipers that are cheap, this is a good choice. If you don't know what you are doing, you could easily spend ten times as much and still end up with less accurate measurements.

It is difficult to tell what the product looks like from the photo
3/5

seems to operate as it is designed, and seems to be accurate enough when bench-tested Comparing my measurements with those made with high quality In rare cases, a dial-caliper may be more accurate than a caliper such as this, as long as you check the scale every time before using it This caliper will function better since it is based on the wheel. The big disappointment is that the photo shows a thumb-shaped flap, but the photo suggests it's a functional flap A "wheel" can be used to fine-tune the adjustment. You are not thumbing your nose at that There's nothing complicated about it, it's just an extruded/cast wheel shaped thumb-drive The difficulty of making smaller/finer adjustments will greatly increase when you lie down. I found the lock screw to be functional and easy to use. Despite the formatting issues, it is remarkably easy to read, so there are some good points pointing in its favor.
