I would recommend these Whirlpool filters because they are a great product and last for a long time. This means that I need to change these filters once a month rather than every three months as recommended. The problem lies with the filter, not the device. 4 years ago, I installed a Whirlpool water softener and (2) whole house filters and that has provided me with excellent water softening. The WHKF-70 is the one I use With the GD05 filter element as the first line of defense, and a Whirlpool charcoal filtration system between it and the softener, the problem is eliminated. After using paper (pleated) filters for some time, I found out these spin-back filters did a better job since the medium goes all the way through to the middle of the filter (not just on I rarely let my monitors go that long (I change mine every 4 months) because they last longer than paper before their pressure decreases. My methods of using them work for me, so I don't see why I should change them.

There were most of the rings on both of these filters broken, cracked, or crumbling. I have ran for 30 minutes, but still see cloudy water. Due to the packaging, which was a shrink wrap and not a box, it's likely that they've been knocked. This was not the way to ship. The shrink wrap had a 2019 sticker on it, which indicates that it may have been older. It is best to stay away from this manufacturer and to find a different replacement filter even though I have a whirlpool machine.
