Choloramines should be removed by any charcoal filter. We first installed the Big Blue when our town had annual water line flushes, which I believe are chlorine flushes, whereas our normal process is chloramine, though I could be mistaken. Anyway, we've been using these filters for over a year and are very pleased with them. We don't smell chlorine anywhere because they work on the entire house. My wife, who is an expert smeller, is also unable to detect them. The most noticeable difference is when I take showers, and I didn't realize how bad the smell was until it vanished. Amazing - In recent years, I have made the best investment I have made for my family.

Hello Robert,br>br>I would suggest the FG25B- If you're looking to get rid of sulfur odors, KS is the way to go. In comparison to carbon filters, this filter is the most effective. A sediment filter (FG25B-1) would be in the new order of the filters. We live in a neighborhood where the water is treated. It isn't a complete filtering system, and it also contains Chlorine, which is a no-no! The Pentek FloPlus filters were used at first. On Amazon, they're still selling for $80 or more. When I need to replace a filter, I look for new options. For example, the last time I was looking for something, I came across the.
Before I came across this one, I was about to purchase a Pelican water carbon filter. We had a strong odor in the water, and this does an excellent job of eliminating it. And twice I waited to see if the smell would return, which took about 5 months, so now I replace it every 4 months, and we don't have any water odor. I couldn't find a way to estimate how long this filter should last. br>br>We also have iron, so the iron bacteria odor was always present. And the iron filter (which wasn't purchased) is also very effective. I used to have to treat the water heater with hydrogen peroxide every three months before I got the filter. Now that I have the iron filter that came with the package, I'll treat the water heaters about once a year, or whenever there is a hint of iron bacteria. There was a way to calculate the frequency with which this filter needed to be replaced. I calculated that it should last about a year based on our iron ppm from a test and our typical usage via the water softener, as well as the spec from iSpring. If I had one complaint, it would be that when you change the cartridge, a lot of water spills all over the floor, which is fortunately in the basement.
I had not experienced any off flavors since replacing the old carbon blocks, and after seeing the old ones, I'm not sure I still needed to replace them, but peace of mind is a valuable commodity. Installation in my Big Blue took about half an hour; the biggest challenge was that the canisters seemed to have gotten tighter over the past year (I used a ball receiver hitch from a car to extend the leverage of my wrench and avoid injuring myself) - I made good use of the bleed valves on the top of each canister. The new filters were simple to install, and after applying a small amount of safe lubricant to both washers on either end of the filters, they were fully functional in minutes.
For half the price, this is a better alternative to Pelican.
The second of two filters can be found here. I replace the filters every two months and have never had a problem.
This is a fantastic filter that does exactly what it says it will. Now we'll have to wait and see how long it will last.
My water softener has a charcoal filter installed to remove chlorine before it reaches it. So far, it's been a success. Excellent value for money and prompt shipping. I should be able to use the filter for at least a year.
It is a good product with EXCELLENT Customer Service. The original filters (cartridges) worked perfectly, but the new Carbon filter reduced my water pressure to dangerously low levels. br>br>I contacted iSpring, and Don, an iSpring customer service representative, called me the next day, assisted me in diagnosing the issue, and provided me with a replacement filter. Even during these difficult (coronavirus-related) times, he had been very patient and helpful. Filter cartridges rarely cause problems, he said. Once the replacement has arrived and been installed, I will update the review.
