Questions & Answers

Is it better to buy something made in China or one that is made in the United States ?

I'm not sure where they're manufactured. The 5 micron filters were the ones I ordered. This is a 1 micron agricultural filter.

I'm looking for filters that are one micron thick. Why are these so much less expensive than the other brands I have in my hardware store? What's the catch, exactly?

The low price is due to the rating of 1 micron NOMINAL. Although it is not stated in the advertisement, it is clearly stated on the label (but not on the online label) when you receive the filters. br> Here's how to define clarity: br>Unquestionably: The term "Filter Rating" refers to the number of times a filter has 9 of particles larger than a specified micron rating are trapped on or within the filter. Nominal: Filter Rating indicates the approximate particle size that will not pass through the filter in the majority of cases. br>If you want Absolute rating, a single filter will set you back $75 or more. br>I use these filters to clarify my home-made wine, and they work great.

What are the filter's efficiency levels? I don't see a rating that leads me to believe they're bad (which is consistent with my own experience). ?

It's possible that my method isn't widely used. These are what I use to filter rainwater for my chickens' drinking nipples. They have a micron rating of 1 micron, which is more than enough for my needs, i.e. , as well as any particles that make it past the collectors' "first flush." They aren't under pressure because I use a gravity feed flow. They're supposed to last 20K-plus hours, according to the description. 60K gallons, but this depends a lot on the water quality. These filters are usually just one stage of a multi-stage filter. filtration system with multiple stages, i.e. It is, in essence, the pre- filter.

Is wfdwc40001 from DuPont compatible with this?

If your filter housing has a capacity of 2, use it. Filter cartridges measuring 5" x 10" will suffice. I'm not sure what model you're referring to, but I usually buy generic parts because they appear to work better. The cartridges are compatible with any filter system that uses this style of cartridge, including reverse osmosis systems, though they would be ineffective.

Selected User Reviews For Aquaboon 6-Pack of 1 Micron 10" Sediment Water Filter Replacement Cartridge for Any Standard RO Unit | Whole House Sediment Filtration | Compatible with DuPont WFPFC5002, Pentek DGD series, RFC series

Is it because of a bad batch or because of poor quality? These sediment filters are about 1/8 inch longer than the standard 10" filter size; you could crush the filters to fit the canisters, but that sounds like a recipe for cracks and reduced efficiency
3/5

I might try cutting them with a table saw to see if that works without compromising their ability to seal once installed. The filters are also noticeably smaller in diameter than other filters I've used, so I won't be buying this brand again.

Prefilter with the best quality
5/5

This is a 1 micron particulate filter that I use as a pre-filter for my RV water filtration system. It does an excellent job of supplying clean, clear water to my Pure Plus 1 micron carbon block filter (also available on Amazon). I replace both filters before each trip, so I don't know how long one of these will last, but on a one-month trip to nine different campgrounds with nine different water sources, I saw no reduction in flow rate. Water usage is typical, with two showers per day. Water spots in my shower have almost vanished thanks to this system. The ice is crystal clear and delicious, as is the coffee and soda stream tonic water from the drinking water tap.

They stand a good height
3/5

Normally, the standard sediment filters I purchase are simple to install. Because these filters are a little taller than 10", you'll need to use a universal 2. To ensure that the filter casing closes properly on a 5" by 10" filter system, you'll need to exert some force. Because the filter housing's plastic ring digs into the filter, it probably has a higher filtration rate, but I'm not used to worrying about that with other brands. The filter could be a little wider, though. A lot of the housings have enough room for 3" or even 3" wheels. 25". They work fine, though, and there is no contamination in my water.

50) is excellent. 33) is what drew me to this replacement set; it's a great deal for what I'm looking for. I'm using the filters (along with their corresponding cartridges) to filter rainwater for small livestock. Quality concerns were not a deciding factor in my application because it is not intended for human consumption. When I get them, I think they'll be great as part of a whole-house filtration system. Because many biological contaminants are larger than 1 micron, it will definitely meet my needs and should be safe for human consumption. Consider filtration if you're building a human potable water system from scratch. Purification is necessary because there are other harmful contaminants that these filters will not remove, e. g. , smaller than 1 micron in size, chemical, and biological These will undoubtedly perform admirably in terms of sediment filtration.

The wisest decision I've ever made For the past few years, I've been using these filters
5/5

It's set up to filter all of the well water that comes into my house. My faucet screens, as well as the hose screens for my washing machine, haven't needed to be cleaned in a long time, and my sinks, bath tubs, and commodes have all stayed cleaner. One of the best investments I've ever made, and I'll keep one on my entire house water supply at all times.

Good Water Filters at a Good Price These are good filters at a good price, and they fit perfectly in our filter system for the spring water that we use in our house
5/5

When there is a lot of rain, we have issues with very fine silt in our water, and we discovered that these filters are a little too fine for that. They'd start to clog up right away. It's not the fault of the filter; it's just a little too good at filtering out very fine particles for our needs. So, from the same problematic line, I switched to 5 micron and have had no issues since.

Water filter cartridges that are good to replace
5/5

I'm working on a project that will take me a long time to complete. Two of these sediment filters are stacked one on top of the other with a plastic/nylon connector between them in a house water filter. The filter housing has been in my possession for 39 years, and the two cartridges are replaced every 6 to 12 months. It's never been an issue. br>These filters are attractive and fit the housing perfectly. br>You can't go wrong for the price. This 6- Three filter changes are provided by the pack.

So far, there haven't been any complaints
5/5

These are what I use to help filter the sediment out of our water. We have springs that feed into a pump room in our basement that has 55 gallon tanks. The springs collect a lot of sediment, especially after a heavy rain, so they need to be changed every 6 months or so. They aren't perfect, but neither are our springs, and they serve us well enough. However, these will not eliminate bacteria; we must continue to shock our springs on a regular basis.
