Questions & Answers
Hard water cannot be removed with these methods. When calcium is dissolved in water, it has no effect.
No, as far as I'm aware, these sediment filters don't eliminate odor. Charcoal filers are said to remove sulfur (or rotten egg) odors, but not iron or hard water odors. I hope this has been of assistance.
They didn't fit in our 10 inch filter.
The box has vanished, and the cartridges bear no indication of where they were made. Each one is individually sealed, and I've been using them successfully for several months. They need to be replaced every 5 weeks or there will be a noticeable loss of pressure, which means they are preventing materials from passing through the filter.

I have three of these at any given time, one for the hot water heater and two for the well water. They are effective at catching sediment and are extremely cost-effective. br>br>After drilling a new 325-foot-deep well, I put them to the test. They caught all the sediment, but they didn't catch any iron or heavy metals in aqueous solutions. br>br>I use it with a spin down filter and get about three months out of it. On the hot water heater, turn it up to five.
My old filter had to be replaced every 30 days and was ineffective. As soon as my water enters the house, this water filter separates the sediment from it. And the water is almost completely clear now. This filter is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone; however, it should be replaced every 30 days. I purchased a large box of filters, which will last me for a year, at a very reasonable price. I suggest purchasing them through the internet.
We had to use CLR every week before we could install the filtration system with these filters. After each shower, we reeked of iron. We ruined more white shirts than you can imagine, so I change the filter on a monthly basis to address our serious problem. It's amazing how much of a difference it's made. There is no longer any CLR after nearly two months!.
There was a significant flaw in the product. The inner part was made of fiber rather than smooth plastic. When I reinstalled the filter, the mechanism on my water filter apparatus would not turn. Every other filter I've bought in the last 30 years has done the same thing! Up until now, I had enough previously purchased filters. When I used this filter, the inner portion became stuck and wouldn't let me turn on the water. The time limit for returning the item had run out. WARNING: THIS ITEM SHOULD NOT BE USED.
We have well water with a high iron content and rust problem, and these filters work great to keep the rust out. Every three months or so, we must replace them. Purchasing the larger package saves us money without a doubt.
Replacement cartridges for water filters that are reasonably priced and of high quality. I'm not sure what to say about these other than that they do what they're supposed to. I've replaced several of them because they're sturdy, clean, and effective, and I'm glad I found a whole box of these filters. They are exactly what I was looking for.
I usually buy 5 Micron filters from a local homebrew supply store, which are great but expensive, but I tried these and they're way finer than claimed. The ones from the homebrew supply clog up in a matter of seconds, whereas the ones from the homebrew supply don't. Would probably be fine for their intended purpose, but not for brewing beer.
These are the filter cartridges that I always use. We have sediment in our water supply because we use well water. The very fine sediments from our well are filtered out by these cartridges.
