I realize this is a silly question, but which side of the filter goes up when replacing it - Which side is it, the black or the white? (I'm guessing white?) ?

Good day, Carrie W- This filter is compatible with a variety of models, but the black side will be facing the incoming water flow. The white side of the paper is facing up or forward. br>I hope this information is useful.

When this filter became nasty, my cat refused to drink from the fountain and went outside to drink from puddles or use the toilet, so I'm glad I found these replacements on here because I had no luck finding them around town.

Of course, these are perfect for use with the pet waterer that they were designed for

When it's time to change one, my cats will alert me. They'll probably start pawing at the waterer because they don't like the taste or smell of the water. When I changed the filter, they started drinking a lot more and returning for more.

The size and type of filter is the same as the one I use for my fountain, which is made by a different manufacturer, but the filters they were offering had now doubled in price, and they were sold out at my local store. I'm relieved that I was able to locate a match at the same price point as before the pandemic.
