It's true what other reviewers say. I have used Brita filters for years and had never experienced a problem with them. After about two weeks, the first filtered quickly and slowed significantly (filling a pitcher would take hours). As a result, I added a second filter, thinking it could be caused by that particular filter. In addition to my Brita filter that came with an Advanced filter, I purchased an extra one just to have on hand. It has been a long time since I last owned and used a Brita filter (or any filter for that matter), so this advanced filter is something new for me. It sounded like it was a revolution in replacing a filter and doing all that jazz instead of soaking the dirt and all that. Although in my opinion, it's not that big a deal between old replacement filters and the Advanced ones. It only means that you don't need to soak the advanced filters for (I'm not sure of the exact time) about 30-45 minutes before using them. You have 45 minutes to spare. It is also not clear to me whether the price difference between the old filters and the Advanced is minor or substantial, but there is a price increase for The difference in price is significant (say, more than a few dollars), so I strongly suggest you purchase the non-branded one Those that are more advanced.
