About a few years ago, I was using an alkaline filter. The impression on me was not positive. After switching to Brita, I had much more fun. This is the way I believe and like, and I have no plans on changing it.

The filter of the pitcher should be removed, if that is what you want to know. You'll need to pull the filter out after taking the pitcher's top off. While this may be easier said than done, it may take a little energy. Reinstalling the new filter in the top is exactly the same.
