Questions & Answers

The tank is sweating inside the wall. I am worried it will get mold inside the wall and I won't be able to see if there is a leak or not. That sounds interesting, but how does it ?

Doug here It is located just across the street from Dobbins ARB/Lockheed, and I am renovating a small, 1300 square foot bungalow home I own. I am installing three concealed toilet tanks from Geberits. To start, there is the concealed tank that adds to the wall's aesthetic appeal. This hanging toilet is solidly built, the tank holds a lot of water, and the tank is made of thick polyethlene, rather than glass or ceramic, and it is tall and stable The tank's walls are made of an extremely thin plastic that is further insulated by Having said that, I suppose you might get sweat coming off your head if you live in an area where the water supply is very cold and ambient air is very humid, possibly from the holes around floor holes where the cold water line enters the tank or where sewer lines leave the tank. Because the tank unit has a depth of over two feet, it cannot be concealed inside of 2x4 framed walls, but it can be concealed inside of In the house, all of my units are or will be installed well within the interior walls, not on or near the exterior walls, and since there is no significant difference in temperature between them and the surrounding exterior walls, any differences are not significant. My framing used 2x4 walls of the enclosed tank just around the tank compartment, so a rectangular 24" x 44" box is structurally sound &amp safe. It is securely mounted on the wall & The floor of the apartment can easily support even the weight of a robust individual (the wall will have to support the entire weight of the person) If you know what you are doing, attach the toilet to the wall. It doesn't touch the floor. I think that an extension of the 2x4 wall would be required in most applications because of both the location load bearing walls AND the support framing below, since both water and ground moisture are present. Geberit is concealed by a small footprint of about 4x18" where sewer lines run. Through support beams, water cannot enter or leave. I covered the concealed tank frameout with 1/2" sheathing, using quality deck screws from Home Depot, covered with 1/2" concrete Backer Board cemented with PL Premium either 3X or 8X Polyurethane construction adhesive, and installed tile with gray 32 thinset onto the backer board. It is truly amazing what Geberit can offer in terms of quality and safety My construction materials and the care I took to conceal in such a way that would make it unlikely for an extreme change in temperature to affect the concealed tank compartment make it extremely unlikely. As for the pink fiberglass in the 2x4 wall that my 2x6 Geberit concealment wall is built outt of, I did it mainly for toilet noise from bathrooms to never be heard in other adjoining rooms, not because of the temperature outside. Keeping concerns at bay There is no additional space to store insulating materials in the tucked away compartment. It is snug like what you might imagine on a shuttle. In regards to black mold growth in walls, I would recommend putting your worries to rest. Condensation in walls might cause mold growth in walls. Although my answer is a bit long, I hope you find it helpful. Hope this helped and I wish you all the best. I am glad I was able to convey what I was trying to convey as clearly as possible. My units are great, mainly because I wanted to move away from floor mount toilets, which are almost always installed in tight corner locations &amp I also wanted them to be energy efficient. There is inevitably a certain amount of grime that builds up around its base over its lifetime (unless your staff is excellent at cleaning). The Rob Quill Group

What is the best way to change the flapper valve, which you know will wear out eventually? Is the wall going to have to be cut ?

A cartridge containing all the components is located on the wallplate and that can be changed. There is no need to cut into the wall.

How would this carrier work on a particular model of toilet? Is any wall-mounted toilet fine as long as it is not too large?

Thank you for visiting. This type of concealed carrier is in my house four times. On two of them, I have a Toto CT418F toilet that cost me $ 167 dollars, and my third one is a Kohler 6299 toilet. The software works without a hitch on all of them. The only thing that bothers me about them is that none of them retain as much water as I have to agree with you, however, that the "clean" all around, especially in the floor, is a great plus to

These concealed carriers are far better value than other concealed carriers, and they continue to work well even after several months

My project involved painting the wall of a small powder room and I thought I'd check out all the possibilities As much space as possible was left on the floor because I hung the toilets. While trying to figure out the differences between all the toilet tank systems, I stumbled upon an interesting fact The specific tank I was interested in is recommended by Amazon to go with the Toto toilet I was looking at, and I was initially concerned about compatibility. In the end, it appears to be compatible. My research found that it was compatible with a lot of systems. first thing you need to figure out is whether your framing uses 2x6 or 2x4. Once you've chosen the right frame, you're ready to start building. Make sure you look at the Geberit web page for their list of compatible toilets. A pair of 2x6 wall studs. A frame for a concealed toilet with a UP320 dual-flush system 2x4 wall studs, Geberit 111, for the toilet flush tank. The Concealed Toilet Carrier with UP720 Dual-Arm System has 1 concealed carrier frame Having a toilet tank system in the wall is a very big concern for many people. As most of the components are injection molded, there is minimal chance of a leak with these tank systems. There are no extra parts that you need / may want to purchase with this toilet tank. It has all the parts you need hidden behind the flush plates, so you can get to them whenever you There are actually two components of the flushing plate 1) The purpose of that is to let you pick the style and color you prefer. There is a lot of cost associated with these! * B) The acoustic insulation bowl connection set (Geberit 156). The set consists of 1 Acoustic Insulation Bowl Connection Set. Being only a sound recording, it doesn't matter As for the foam for the toilet wall carrier, I thought it should have been included. Because I didn't have this kit and I needed to install it quickly, I just made one using the instructions from my mother You can stuff packing foam behind the toilet to provide acoustic insulation by cutting some sheets and stuffing them. As far as I can tell, it's functioning well and not taking up too much space.
3) Connecting pipes, etc.

I recommend watching the YouTube It was a pleasure working with them. If you're looking at these types of toilets you may know that they are expensive, but within that price range this brand seems to offer the most value out.

Is exactly what I expected! Due to the size of my house, I built a small bathroom
5/5

A toilet that takes up little space would be ideal for me. This toilet, manufactured by Toto, was only 21 inches long and hung on the wall. concealed carrier was the perfect fit. I chose Geberit because it was concealed. There are two sizes available, the 4" and the 6". My choice of the 6" was based on it being forty dollars less expensive than the 4" Furthermore, I needed a 6" wall if I wanted to add the 3" vent. Three (3)" pipes are three in diameter. Although it measures 5" in diameter, it will still fit in a 4" wall. However, its inch and a half of wiggle room means you can work around it. There is nothing to connect the carrier when it comes assembled. If you're installing or retrofitting, you'll have to decide where to place the fixtures based on the plumbing you currently have. Everything installed without a hitch. A couple of youtube videos explained how to do this. It is great how much water it saves by using With the large flush mode, you can flush much more water. a hidden carrier helps save space, as well as make the watch look cleaner.

There are no instructions included with the unit. Despite being a bit of a hassle to install, it was certainly worth the effort. I think it is.

My favorite part of not having to clean behind the toilet is not needing to clean it
5/5

My favorite part of not having to clean behind the toilet is not needing to clean it. The Wall My bathroom has a hung toilet, which is standard in Germany. I am very happy to have one in my home. The Geberit company has been making quality, durable wall-mounted devices for decades I have used toilet carriers for nearly 50 years. I have full faith that this wall carrier will last for a long time. It was installed as part of a bathroom remodel, which required removing walls and possibly moving It wasn't any additional work to do that as we were going to need to install plumbing for a bathroom upstairs anyway. A Quia toilet was selected to go with the wall carrier, and it fit perfectly. This will depend on the way you install our toilet, which is solid. The walls of the framing needs to be beefed up considerably, and the wall board also needs to be significantly In addition to 1/4 inch beadboard, we used cement board. This product needs to be installed by someone with additional knowledge of installation, since the installation instructions are not very good. German construction does not have much reliance on wood stud framing and mainly relies on steel stud systems installed in stone walls. This may be the reason for the lack of instructions.

Thank you for concealing the tank
5/5

I'm very happy with it. Our bathroom is small, and we wanted to maximize space and make it easier for wheelchair users to use. As a result, the toilet we chose is a Toto Aquia wall-hung toilet (Sanagloss is required here), with this hidden tank from Geberit. It is a great setup and we are very pleased with it. I am now very glad we decided to go this route, even though my husband was skeptical at first. I was amazed at how much space it saved. Fortunately, we made an access panel before we closed up the bathroom wall. The back of the tank faces a closet in a bedroom so we had to cut it out before we sealed off the bathroom. Moreover, if we need to access more than what can be accessed through the actuator panel, it is not difficult to do so. The package arrived in excellent condition and was delivered quickly.

It's fine with me
5/5

Having been a plumber for over twenty years, this was my first in-wall There were no words in the instructions, and that left me wondering at times. You'll have to work in some tight spots, and the inside of the tank differs from the instructions' graphic. All in all, this is the easiest toilet I have ever installed from rough through finish to flush. It was easy to install the Toto toilet, and there is plenty of clearance that enables wall finishing thicknesses between 1/2 inch and 3 inch. It took no more than a few minutes to install the controls. My first reaction was to call attention to the absurdly cheap plastic actuator plate. The toilet is now complete and I am delighted with the outcome. I want to remind you of one thing. When raised, the lid/seat of the toilet impacts the wall, so the wall finish should be durable to withstand this impact.

Installation can be complicated, but it is ideal for small spaces
4/5

It is a great thing that there are YouTube videos to help with the installation process. As thin as this unit is, it can go into almost any wall. However, it can be tricky to install the down waste pipe. Unfortunately, I could not find any offset waste pipes that fit my complicated installation, but fortunately one was available. I was able to make this toilet an extra large 52" room that was big enough for me to have a private bath The facility is comfortable.
