The base of my tank has developed a crack, but the tank itself is still intact. It was difficult to find an exact replacement tank for my 4215A toilet, and I had to contact American Standard corporate to learn what possible options there might be. There was also a pre-installed fill and flush valve in the tank All new components have been installed, including a new tank lid and gasket (all the parts needed to replace your current highly recommend it as a replacement for discontinued toilet tanks (understandably, confirm that the tank is compatible beforehand).
I recently bought this product from Amazon, and while I have no complaints against the retailer, it is the worst quality I've ever experienced. There is no doubt that American Standard standards have declined over time. The tank is deformed with scraps and gouges, in addition, the back side of the tank is left unpainted, so it is exposed to the climate, which increases the risk of premature deterioration. The tank does not level with the base section, that was common in the past when tanks and bases had rubber seats to keep them level this tank has no such thing, just two bolts and a bulky green gasket between the two sections. Small tanks just don't look right on a large base, which is what this Champion Pro oblong base requires, which is the tank that needs to be placed on it. It comes with a plastic guts and the handle for the flush assembly is severely bent inside the unit where it does not flush well. As a matter of fact, if I had my choice again, I would have left my old toilet, but I disposed of it before I realized that this one is pretty much a junky one. This was an extremely disappointing experience, and Amazon refunded just a few dollars rather than replacing the entire item. I was told it was back ordered and probably wouldn't be available for some time. A Mexican product! That should tell you all you need to know.
4215A can be substituted for this. I like how it's a little more rounded but still.
I did not have any problems during installation.
