Questions & Answers

How does it connect to the post? Does it come with mounting hardware?

With it are a drill bit and a bit for a single hole. A 5" lag bolt is used to mount the box to the There is no post included with this mailbox, but if you order a Mail Boss post, the post includes the hardware to mount it to it.

Is it possible to have outgoing mail delivered to your home?

There is a spring steel clip in the top door of your mailbox to hold outgoing mail for the mailman if you choose to use it for that purpose. Bringing up the mail flag alerts the person doing your mail delivery that you have a package on its way. However, keep in mind that mail thieves can also see this flag when they try to rob your mailbox. that you do not do this, and instead drop off your outgoing mail in a USPS blue box since there is no way for outgoing mail to be secure in an individually locked box that is also used for

What is the common key for all of the keys? What are the chances that a thief would order one and then unlock another ?

For just our mailboxes, we have a total of 1,500 unique keys. One thousand unique keys have yet to be manufactured. It's so rare that someone would have your key that the odds of that happening are at least 1 in 1000. These have 12 disc wafer locks as well. You're going to have to pick them carefully. There are way too many steps in this process.

When it rains, does it keep the mail from getting wet? The mail I received from other locking mailboxes is wet. ?

In addition to being designed to keep your mail dry, this element has passed all USPS standards. I would angle the mailbox forward on the front so water drips off the front instead of dripping into the box in the real world. Our floor liner keeps mail off the actual metal bottom by keeping it away from the actual metal. When water gets in the bottom of the box, this helps to keep it off the mail. Sideways blowing rain is easier to deal with when this is the case.

I love this box -- Exceeded my expectations in every way
5/5

If you must be cheap then you should buy the post that comes with this, which fits snugly over a pressure treated 4x4 with holes at the bottom for the bolts included. Make sure to check with your local power district or call 811 in the U. S. before you dig -- A recommendation of 36" is made. After digging a wider hole, I used two bags of self-hardening post hole foam. After letting it set overnight, I backfilled the rest of the hole with dirt and packed it In order to install the mailbox from the rear, it was removed from its mounting plate. I still have the one I bought anyway I had no trouble at all. This bottom of the box has a plastic insert that aids with sliding the mail over the bolts - it's located in the bottom. Put it to good use. Front door has a magnet to keep it closed. The door is weighted to ensure that it closes no matter what as the mail weight forces it to close as it I have included a notation Even though the box is large enough to fit the mail of at least a week or two, it is not recommended, as it interferes with the "drop" from the lid to the box's interior. I would leave for about 5 days at the most. The access through the rear door is fantastic, and the key stays in the lock even as you turn the key so you don't drop your keys in the dark. This is a good mailbox in my opinion. Reviews that are not paid are welcome.

There's no BRUTE like this! It was LAST WEEK that we were "in"

My decision to choose this unit was based on the REAR MAIL feature- THE BACK DOOR (most "security" mailboxes have a FRONT DOOR). It is possible to "steal" the mail by having somebody get out of their vehicle and walk to the rear of the box where they will try to "jimmy" the box open while everyone is watching. There is a HANDLE on the mail insertion door A PROOF OF INSERTATION In other words, if the thief tries to obtain the mail via the front door with his hand, his hand WILL get wedged in the door if inserted far enough (e. Theft committed by a "determined" individual). * * * * This is a heavy construction of steel (it weighs 23 pounds. about 1/2" thick steel and has a recessed design when it is When the rear door is closed, there is almost NO "gap", so anybody trying to force it open will have a hard time prying it open. I really like the lock its “hasp” is a nice “butterfly” design with two "contact points” on the inside of the rear panel when it is closed when it is open Compared to the standard "single button" of other security boxes, this method is much more reliable. A "holder" is used to mount the box, and there are multiple ways to do so. To mount it to what you're mounting the box to, you need to match the hole pattern on the floor. You need to be aware of the following If you are going to run the bolts/screws down to the mounting surface, you will need a "short nose" power driver, since a standard power driver is not going to fit To keep your screwdriver bits in place, you can use a ratchet and appropriate sockets. For the lag bolts that are included, carefully mark the bolt locations on the support board/post, and if using wood for the post, you can drill the pilot holes using the supplied bit. The box should be attached to the holder using LONG (about 3") #8 wood screws through the smaller mounting holes if possible to reinforce the "anchoring. ". Last but not least, the supplied plastic "liner" must be used after the box has been mounted! The caps cover the heads of the mounting bolts and screws, so your mail won't "snag" on them AND you can ease the process of removing your delivered mail. Note down the key number on the card you were given, and file that card away! The three keys are provided in case you lose yours (if you lose one! even the whole lot becomes damaged, this number is used to obtain new If you ask for the price as is, then you get a GREAT DEAL! As long as the box is not cheaply made, it will hold up to a lot of abuse without compromising its integrity.

I have ever used a mailbox like this
5/5

This is my new mailbox, and I love it! My mail is now easy to get since I no longer have to walk off the curb near traffic to get it. It's so sturdy and the best part is I don't have to walk close to traffic. From the front or the back, I can access it however I please. This brand is great and they have just released a couple new options recently. I like that they got better quality for the price. You can beat this on up, but you won't be able to get in unless you have all day and some crazy tools that only the fire department has. According to me, this is the best out of the lot. There must be something exciting coming up in the near future when they start making the Latitude in more colors like Hunter Green and Dark Gray This box can hold a lot of mail so if you travel a lot and can't get to your mail, this would be a great choice. Putting this mailbox on your porch is a lot of work so you need a sturdy post. You can also use an enclosure post to keep it enclosed. I really like this mailbox, everybody should own one.

It has an ultra-premium feel
5/5

Our neighborhood is a bustling one, so this is the perfect fit. One thing that made this mailbox stand out was the rear door access. You are required to apply 4" numbers on a LARGE area if you wish to do so. There was still space to spare when I used 3". The vinyl worked just fine, it was sturdy, the instructions were clear, and the drill bit that came with it did a nice job. It will take some time to see how waterproof the box is, if the plastic liner will cause mold issues, etc. But it's a very sturdy and well-made box. A box that is built. The installation was not perfect. I noticed a couple of small imperfections. Shipping didn't cause any big dents or dings, but there were some minor scratches.

It's so much safer than any standard mailbox
4/5

It's great that there is an access at the rear! It is no longer necessary to stand in the street and dodge cars in order A determined thief could probably force the rear door open, although I hope it can't. I wonder if the rear door doesn't appear to have a very tight fit, so I worry they could pry it open. Would also like to see the plastic tray that is inside on the bottom fastened in some way. To see if it helps, I'm going to put double stick tape on it.

I like the way it looks and how it feels
5/5

I had my handyman install this rear lock access mailbox on the existing mailbox post. It looks fantastic. A powder coat finish is appealing to me and the rear lock access is a bonus, since mail thieves won't be able to pry it I'm glad I got this mail box.

Buying defective products is a bad idea This item is not functional
3/5

The quality control for the mailbox is very poor because of this, the rear door does not open. Alternatively, it is possible they sent me a return or defective item. I don't think either of these experiences will be fun.

Our goal is to provide you with peace of mind security
5/5

Our local postal service has been experiencing significant mail theft, which prompted the purchase of this mailbox. The construction is satisfactory to me. I think it is very My choice of this box was due to the locking rear door. There is a magnet on the door of the front mail slot. Along with the box, I ordered the post that connects the box to the steel. Four 4X4 studs enable the post to slide over them. Features 3 keys, including one for the front lock and two for the rear lock.
