Why not? I do not see any reason not to. It is possible to cut the opening to specifications, as long as you can. The frame of the mail slot may have to be modified to mount it, so you may have to add some material on the inside of the door, but if you do it close and flush, the screws or bolts will be hidden by the mail slot's shroud.

I am very pleased with what I received. There is a study here and it seems well done. Yet, I am unfamiliar with how or where to attach the chute to a stud in a wall since no predrilled holes are provided. A trim ring is not included on the inside to cover the inevitable gaps that will emerge between the chute and the newly cut rectangle hole. It appears that a trim ring would be able to keep the chute in place to the wall and cover any gaps. The hole that I cut on the inside of the chute was almost perfect, but I still had to add some wood trim around it. In addition, interior walls are the best place to install it. It would be possible for rain water to find its way through this chute if this were mounted on the exterior wall.
After reading the reviews I decided to put it on rainy side. Build quality is great for HD.
