I couldn't believe the weight of this thing! A lot of weight goes into making it, and it's well built. The body of the box is welded steel, while the interior contains a piece of carpet at the bottom, and the door is made from the same steel as the body. I am uncertain of what gauge of steel that is, but it does not bend or flex. A standard piece of mail, cash, etc. fits comfortably in the slot. A business envelope can be pretty much anything flat and a business envelope size. Generally, keys can pass through the slot without a ring attached, but not with one. Besides being useful as a gun box, key box, or secure storage for anything that fits inside, this box also looks good as a key box. The inside edge of the door has a diamond pattern. There's a zig-zag edge to it, so anyone who sticks a finger where it's not supposed to might get a boo-boo It is more difficult to get the contents out of the slot, or at least the contents may boo. I like that the lock is a tubular vending machine type lock, which is decent and is not easily picked like regular key locks, which is an advantage. The lock can be picked, as any lock can be, however, this type takes some practice if you want to remain silent while doing so. Obviously, drilling would work, but for average scumbag thieves, that isn't an option since they want to be in and out as soon as possible Without drawing attention to themselves, they disappear in-and-out. It is interesting to see a reviewer complain that the hinge points are easily pryable, and I totally disagree with him. While I did not deliberately break into the box, this is not a task that can be performed There is a hole where the hinges are located that requires some serious prying, but they can probably be pried out with a huge pry bar. Truth be told, that's the case. Even if you think your security measures are tough and unbreakable, if a thief is determined enough, they WILL get what they want regardless of how big and bad you think they It is not meant to act as anything more than a deterrent or a safety net against the average car smash The job is yours. I also noticed that another reviewer complained that no instructions were provided for how to mount the file. Is that true? This anchor kit has 4 heavy lag screws and 4 concrete anchors, and there are 4 screw holes. Depending on where you want to mount it, you can choose your choice. The best way to handle that stuff is to put it to good use. I swear I know the kids of some people. That being said, it's a fantastic This is a sturdy product that can handle many jobs and is easy to install and use, except if you are a total dork. It's great and I highly recommend it.
As a rent drop location for my tenants, it is used by me. The manufacturer didn't know how I should mount it to the concrete block so I contacted them and they simply said it was up to the contractor. I found this to be extremely As a result, you can figure it out if I did by searching the internet for There are a few differences between these and the standard boxes but the concept is the same.
I love the way it looks.
to pay my rent and it works great. This drop box is easy to mount using the provided hardware, and has a solid build quality. Indirect weather conditions can be tolerant of the mount, but direct weather would not.
This is what I was looking for!.
It may be heavy, but I am confident I could break into this safe using nothing more than a large flat stone in less than five seconds A screwdriver with an edge. It is due to the relatively unreliable way the door is attached to the case, which is by a metal shaft 1/4" or so in diameter with protruding ends that barely fit into the holes on either side. A simple lever would be enough to separate the case from the door shaft- just pry one side away. I would recommend between 1mm and 2mm In this case, the door could be lifted with the shaft popping out of the hole. It wouldn't have made any difference to me if I had realized this before I threw away the shipping box and installed the safe. My plan is to replace it with something better as soon as I find a better alternative.
I really like this box. It wouldn't hold up outside. The opening at the top is very narrow and would be impossible to pass a key through with tags. The box would not be useful as a key drop.
The box has all the papers you need for your shooting range, though you'll need a cutting torch to open.
