It follows that I think it's funny to refer to this as a locking mailbox. Since I have large hands, I've been able to put my hand in the mail slot and take all my mail out without having to unlock it. This mailbox is well designed, and that is the only reason I gave it 3 stars. If you modified the hinged door to not open so far, it may serve as a more secure door.

While it is convenient to have a lock on it, our mail carrier leaves enough junk mail lying around occasionally to clog the mail slot. Although I don't have any major issues with the junk mail, it would be nice if they put the important mail first, then the junk, but they don't do it. Perhaps we need to buy a larger box for the project? I like the way this box looks, the lock works, and the box.

I replaced it with a magnetic catch because it had become loose. The situation has improved significantly. It looks great and is very sturdy.

Reinforce the metal there is a need to do so. One of my pins was broken off when I received it. The area that was affected by JB Weld was built up with as much of it as I could fit after I JB welded it three times. Now that it is running, it is doing its It is unclear why an upgrade in design that is simple and inexpensive, yet absolutely vital to the operation of the mailbox, has not been.

Solidly built, this mailbox has a lot of strength. Despite having it exposed to the weather (sun and rain) here in the Caribbean for just a couple days, it seems to be durable. Despite its smooth installation, screwdriver access for the two upper screw holes can be a bit tricky. It is a decorative and economically priced mailbox which would be worth your consideration if you wish to opt for a non-traditional design.

Mailboxes like this one are very attractive. This plaque was installed on the brick wall just outside my front door by my handyman, and many of my neighbors have commented on how beautiful I have it on my porch and it's protected from the weather. So it should continue to look good A lock and a key are very simple to use. With this product, I am very pleased with its appearance and functionality.

Because of the size (it was a little larger than I expected), I was a bit skeptical when I first got this. After being installed, it doesn't look so bad any more. Although at first I thought it looked too refined for my house, I am adjusting slowly. It would have been nice if I didn't need to lock it to remove the key, but I can live with it. It would be recommended.

My perception is that this is not something I would take outside unless it were secure. The children in our classroom practice writing letters to each other by using it in class. Checking the mail is a fun activity, and they like looking at it. Installing it was simple because it comes with a key.
