In a location like that, you'll need a flush mount finger hold. Any handle that protrudes too far will collide with the inside door or jamb.

WINSOON Simple Sliding Barn Door Handle, Comfortable Handy Touch Gate Handle Pull Set, Premium Black Carbon Stainless Steel Body, Snugly Fits 9" Hole Spaces Wood Doors, Replace Old Pull Handlesbr>br>I'm not sure why all of the reviews for barn door hanging fixtures and handles have been grouped together, but whatever. This handle, as well as the screws, are magnetic. br>br> br>br>Now, low-grade stainless steel can be magnetic, so I'm hoping this is just a low-grade stainless steel item. Because it's outside on the back yard gate, time will tell if it rusts or not. I didn't use the screws provided because they're too skinny and short (probably a 6 or smaller and about an inch long). I was screwing through a 5/8" thick picket that was mounted to a sideways 2x4 and it was barely going through. I think I used about 10 x 2" ss screws (I always buy the big pack of ss screws whenever I need a different size and keep them all mixed up in a jar), and the screw head was a little proud, which I fixed with some black paint. Also included are pan head screws, with countersunk holes for countersunk screws.
I understand that this handle was designed for a much larger barn door. br>br>However, for my screen door, I made a leather handle that was nearly identical in design. br>br>I bought it because it's big enough to wrap your hand around and easy to hold. The following reason is that it must be durable. This, on the other hand, is extremely durable. br>After that, it should be simple to set up. For the purpose of drilling holes and screwing them in place. It's pretty straightforward. br>br>The metal has a mildly coarse feel to it, but it isn't scratchy. After all, it's designed to be used on a sliding barn door that opens to the outside. Perhaps open the barn doors to the outside as well. This isn't deep enough for the door handle and/or deadbolt lock to hit. br>br>Highly recommended for this application. br>Excellent price-to-quality ratio.
For pushing and pulling, I used the handles on my redwood fence/gate. It has a nice appearance and a solid feel to it. So far, everything has gone well. To avoid splinters, the handle has enough clearance.
These barn door handles are ideal for the home renovation we recently finished. They're a good weight, easy to put together, and exactly the width and depth we needed.
It has a very nice appearance and is very sturdy. I believe it will perform well and last a long time; however, I gave it three stars due to poor installation instructions and a design flaw that prevents the doors from rolling freely on the track. It worked well after a few minor tweaks.
Perfect.
One side of one handle was not counter sunk for screw heads, despite the fact that I ordered three sets. The screws were missing from one of the sets. Aside from that, they're attractive and functional at a reasonable price.
I bought these to go under the bed drawers for style and convenience, and they're perfect: beautiful, heavy, and well-made!.
