It was nice that there was an option for flush mounting, since we didn't have to carve out a niche in the door. For the door to open, there is still a lot of "grab" left. The unit had to mounted exactly at the edge of the thick part of the door (pictured #1), so you could still access it when the door was closed (pictured One of the only issues (and this has nothing to do with the product) is that since our barn door has the DesignGlide soft touch, this has caused a slight scratch on the surface. Even though the door has close hardware, it does take some effort to open.
It actually took my breath away when I saw It was actually made of metal gauge that was very thick, so it was heavy duty for use on barn doors. Having a matte black finish goes well with the rest of the hardware on my rig. A quick FYI, it comes with a screw that measures about 1 1/4" long for securing it. I didn't bother to remove the screw because my door was 1" thick - so I just trimmed it after prepping The door can still be easily screwed into it after it has been drilled.
It is very easy to I really liked the size of the screws for my door as well. Having the inset required is a big plus for me. Fingers have no problem gripping the pull because it is smooth. handle inset on the door is shallow, but again, it's not an obstacle to getting the door open. It was very smooth to slide my sliding door, so it may be too shallow if you have to start with a bit of muscle behind it. I am very pleased with how it looks and works.
As part of our plans for our new home, we planned to install these handles on the laundry room and master bath barn doors. We thought the stainless finish would look nice against the dark stain of the doors since all of our other hardware is brushed nickel. As it turns out, the spot welds that join the back piece to the finger pull piece show from the surface as discoloration. The order was for two. The one that worked was okay. This one had a discoloration, as can be seen in the picture. The one we received has been returned so that a replacement can be provided. It shipped a replacement the next day, and it was discolored from the weld as well. Our plan is to paint both pieces and determine if they look good before mounting them.
The design of this site is extremely pleasing to me, along with other 5 star reviewers. This is the model I chose because it is flush mounted and I am The pull works well and completes the look on my heavy door. It rolls very easily too, so it's perfect for my door.
There is a rusty brownish color to it. In my opinion, it is an incomplete product. Assuming it is black, it is painted or finished. This product appears to have been manufactured with Did they try any other ways to save money? My original shipment of these handles may have gone bad, so I requested another set to replace it. How ironic that the new one came in the same The words are not coming to me.
The install is fast, it looks great, and it has remained solid over the last few months. If needed, thin enough to slide by the door frame while still being thick enough to grip. In case your dog, like mine, figured out how to open the sliding door and won't leave you alone when you're in the bathroom, pair the sliders with a hook latch.
This product is very well made, has a simple installation process, and is somewhat inexpensive.
