The unit's opening is 1 1/8" wide, which fits my Pella sliding door perfectly and matches what was on the door when it was installed. I contacted Pella Manufacturing for assistance in locating a replacement part, but I was able to locate one on my own. Wishing you the best of luck in your repairs.

I installed a new Pella sliding door ten years ago, but never installed the locking peace because I installed a doggie door insert. When my best friend died, I removed the insert and discovered that the locking peace was missing. This component was an exact match. Skanner, my dog, is very much missed.
I tried to put it together, but the opening on this product is EXACTLY the same size as the latch. This means that if you install it 1/10th of a millimeter to the left or right, it will not fit into the hole and will not lock. I screwed and unscrewed this ten times to get it right, but it seemed impossible at the time, so I drilled 100 holes in the door frame. Not leaving 1mm extra space on the sides, in my opinion, is a bad design.
Wen. I bought a used Jeld-Wen Jeld-Wen Jeld-Wen Jeld-Wen Jeld Wen V- This was missing from a 2500 vinyl door. If you want to secure it to the framing for maximum security, the screws are a little short. I used some 2 1/2" grabbers I had on hand, which worked perfectly. Later, I'll paint them and use white caulk to fill in the old screw holes. The color is a little darker grey than the door, but that's not their fault, and I don't mind. The door latch can be tightened with a few quick turns of the adjustment screws on the door latch. I'm very pleased with it for the price, sturdiness, and the fact that I couldn't find one locally.
Our dog has since passed away, and we haven't been able to locate the original striker. This one was a perfect fit, and we can now close the slider door.
I couldn't find a replacement on the internet, so I turned to Amazon. It was right there, br>br>br>br>br>br>br> br>It was successful. br>In the description photo, this appears to be PVC, but it is actually cast metal that has been well painted (possibly using a powder coating process). br>It's durable and simple to set up.
I'm glad I came across this for my Pella sliding patio door. This single item was missing from the home where I moved in, allowing the single hook latch to catch something and lock it. There are four screws included. It's simple to set up and adjust. Finally, I'm able to shut and lock my patio door!.
Pella patio doors can be used with this system. When I contacted them, they offered no assistance in locating a replacement part, which I was thrilled to discover.
One of these was not available for purchase in any of the local home improvement stores. This was exactly what I needed for a replacement piece.
