I hope this information is useful to you. This kit is fantastic! The hardware is of excellent quality, and at this price, no other kit comes close! With that said, if I had known this information prior to constructing my door, I might have designed it differently. Because the rail's factory bolt pattern is 14" on center and typical wall studs are 16", you'll need to hang a ledger board behind the rail in most cases. It gives the system a lot of strength, and I personally like the look of the ledger, so it's not a big deal. However, like the majority of people who purchase this kit, I'm replacing the style of an existing door, so the door frame will have a standard 1/2" or so overhang. Well, I built my door out of 1x10 molded panels and 1x4 pine boards, which has a total thickness of about 2" when connected. The finished product is pushed away from the door frame by the ledger board, which is about the same width as the ledger! I couldn't leave a gap in the door because I was using it as a guest bathroom on our first floor, but luckily I had some spacers on hand to put it back where it needed to be. To me, it's not a big deal; I still like how it turned out. However, this minor flaw could have been caused by the manufacturer tweaking the design slightly or by me using a different material to construct my door. More weight would not be a problem for the hardware, in my opinion. I hope this information is useful to you. God bless.

The door is a work of art once it is finished. It's another matter to get it built. It only has a picture and no instructions. As an engineer, I'm confident in my ability to construct a home. Even though it seems counterintuitive, spacers must be used between each vertical board. In a normal assembly, the tonged groves would be pushed together tightly to form a solid assembly. The cross boards will not fit and the door will not be the width you ordered if you do so. Even with the spacers provided, I was unable to achieve the desired door width, and I had to power sand the door edges to achieve a clean appearance. Knowing what I know now, I would buy it again.

Please be patient as this is my first review. br>br>Had purchased a far more expensive set from a local retailer, but it was the incorrect size for the job. Fortunately, they took it back when I returned it. This company offered a wide range of sizes at a lower cost. br>br>The quality wasn't as good as a local retailer, but it was adequate for the price. As a result, I rate it highly in terms of value. Everything went according to plan. br>br> Installation was not difficult; however, pay close attention to the wall you are hanging on; in this case, there was insufficient wall support beneath the drywall, so an external header connected to studs was used instead. Nail holes should have been filled and painted prior to installing the door rail, but this was not noticeable. I'll look into it later. Tip. br>br> If the door rail isn't perfectly leveled, or if the door doesn't come to a stop when you open and close it, a piece of felt can be attached to the rail to provide enough friction. (I got this idea from a YouTube video).

It works, but the design could be better. One issue I'm having with this track is that when using 10ft track and double doors, you can't use the mending plate. So, instead of the mending plate, I put the stops in the center. I'd prefer the door to stop close to the center and not slam into the other door, but the mending plate interferes with the stops, so that's not possible. br>Another issue I'm having is that even if you try your hardest to mount everything square, level, and plumb, you still need to make adjustments, and there's no way to adjust the door once the track is mounted and hung. As a result, I had to plane the doors down, which took a little longer.

It's simple to put together and it looks great. The barn door hardware for 5 feet was ordered. It's not quite long enough for what I'm looking for, but it'll suffice. I wish they had door hardware that was 5 ft 6 inches long. For a 32" opening, a 5'6" rail would have been ideal. A 24 inch to 30 inch opening is ideal for the 5 ft.

$269! When I got home, I went on Amazon and found this HomLux set for $39! It is EXACTLY the same thing (with the exception of the companies involved). For installation on wood, concrete, or drywall, it came with heavy-duty bolts and other materials. It has floor guides as well as stoppers. The door glides effortlessly and quietly. Because it is installed in our home, it is extremely important. This purchase has made us extremely happy. I'd give it a higher rating if I could.

A little tweaking was needed. I have a one-of-a-kind antique door. 5" thick, which necessitated the use of an additional bolt on the spacer in order for it to slide. It should be possible to use a 25" thick door. Installing this takes two people and a lot of patience. The intersection of the two bars isn't quite right. The wheels do not glide evenly over the intersection of the two bars, despite the fact that I used a level throughout the installation. It's because the metal bars are slightly out of alignment when they're put together. The matte finish of the metal bars contrasts with the shiny black hardware. This is functional, but if you want perfection, you should probably spend more money on a set that has all of the details taken into account. This will suffice if you require a low-cost solution, but it does not merit a 4-star rating. 5 stars.

Because the doors no longer have to swing open, they are much easier to open in my small apartment. Also, the opening process has been extremely smooth. There is no screeching noise when it is opened or closed.
