Kwikset Montara Single Cylinder Handleset with Juno Knob featuring SmartKey in Polished Brass

My experience with the knob-type ones was fantastic, and I left a glowing review on the product page. While the handle set is all made of the same wonderful materials as the knob sets, installation is more difficult. In spite of the fact that the screws and bolts came in number-coded packages, the instructions failed to state which package each screw or bolt belongs to. The good news is that I have installed a lot of door hardware in the past, so I had no problem figuring It was the handle bottom installation that presented the greatest challenge to me. To make sure I used the template correctly Two or three measurements and one drilling is a good rule of thumb. I think I did the hole drilling exactly according to the template, but the bolt hole did not line up with it. As a result of enlarging the drill hole, I was able to install the bolt and lift the cap so that the larger hole would still be covered by the cap. My apologies if I overdid it In the end, I completely overhauled it, but I didn't tighten it that much. I went to the hardware store to get a replacement bolt and they had a hard time finding (out of hundreds of bolts) a bolt matching the one from the original. In the meantime, I was able to rig it up, but I may have to use a larger machine screw to get it tight. The set is still highly recommended, but be sure to install the bolts very carefully.

Our goal was to replace a deadbolt lock with two locks in place of the Kwikset Montara front entry knob, since we believed that two locks would offer greater The new set line up with the existing Kwikset holes better but the old one didn't align perfectly. That sounds like it should be a universal thing, wouldn't it? There is no such thing as that. In addition, it tends to play a part. I guess it's time to lock up. A good time was had by all. The door closed strongly and caused just a slight amount of damage. Having unintentional locking is one problem, but the other thing that bothers me about it is the locking mechanism that doesn't rotate all the way through You always feel like the door is held open to a certain degree even when you want it to be closed. In the case of our knob, horizontal indicates unlocked and like a 45-degree angle It's locked if there is at least a 15-degree angle upwards. You've probably locked the door. It's kind of like that. I give this door handle a zero for functionality because it looks really nice, but it does not function well at all.

There have been a couple different versions of this kind of set I've owned. A lock is rarely found on a knob of a set. It is possible for a few to do it. Unlike other sets, this one has a lock on the inside to let you know when you've left the door. When you do this, the latch will also lock to notify you that you've left. A latch I've had in the past has failed to lock and I've closed the door when it was on lock with the result that I've locked my keys inside and have been locked out. Strange until one becomes locked out. I also like controlling the locks when guests who spend the night are gone without having to give them a key before heading out.

It was very easy to install and I am quite pleased with the purchase. Having replaced and installed the door knobs and locks on the interior or exterior of your home shouldn't be a surprise. The installation seems to have been designed well for seamless installation. I had to drill a hole in the door to accommodate the bottom of the exterior handle. Don't rush yourself with the template, double check your measurements, and you won't run into any problems. We've had it installed for 6 months, and everything is working as it should. I only had one issue during bitter cold weather the interior knob lock (not the deadbolt) was a bit difficult to turn, however the handle lock and deadbolt worked as intended. I would purchase.

The quality of the product is good. Installs quickly and easily. I like the fact that you can use old keys. I love how easy it is to reseat the boat. In addition, if you want to make use of the new keys, you can just use the old ones. Considering the price, it's pretty good. You can see that we needed 2 locks, but the inside of one lock was.

The device was purchased as an Amazon Warehouse deal, and I had to purchase multiple screws to complete the installation. I was able to finish the project thanks to parts I had left over from the previous door. I like the way this works. An operation that was a little notchy. With Kwickset Smart Key locks installed on all of my home's exterior doors except the doorwall, I have replaced all of the doors' locksets. I am satisfied with my overall experience. The key to everything is now in my hand. Rekeying these locks is a piece of cake. It's necessary to have both keys (the original that comes with the lock and the key you want to use) as well as the simple tool that comes with the lock along with The Smart Lock only works with locksets that are compatible with the Smart Lock. There are a few brands I am aware of, including Kwikset and Baldwin. It takes less than a minute to do the little rain dance once you've mastered it.
