Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Get rid of your keys for good by entering your entry code on the keypad and leaving the bulky keychain at home. Yale Access Upgrade Kit (sold separately) is required for use with your smartphone or smart home system.
Auto-Lock for added security: You didn't forget to lock the door; your lock did. You can sleep soundly at night knowing that your door is locked every time you leave the house and when you go to bed.
Not so handy, but not a problem to install on any door. Yale Assure locks are incredibly simple to install and are guaranteed to fit standard doors (ranging in thickness from 1-34" to 2-14" thick). Thin door kit is required for doors that are less than 1-3/8".
Stop hiding keys: the new hide-a-key is sharing codes. Give out unique codes to trusted friends, family, and others, and never leave a key under the doormat again.
Upgrade to Yale Access Wi-Fi: For now, just use the keypad, and when you're ready, upgrade to a smart lock. You can use your phone as a key with our Yale Access Upgrade Kit (available separately).

Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with an Arlo security system?

No, I do not believe that is true. These locks do not work with apps or connect to the internet. Yale also makes a lock that can connect to the internet.

Is it able to withstand fingerprints?

Fingerprints giving away your passcode is unrealistic in the first place. There would be so many possibilities, even if you repeated some numbers, unless you did 1111 or 1234 or something stupid like that. For example, if a would-be burglar noticed that you only touched the 4 and the 0, with 8 digits derived from 2 digits, there are 256 possible combinations, and that's assuming the person knows you used all 8 digits, which he doesn't. With a 7-digit code that still uses two numbers, there are 128 possible combinations, and so on down to a 4-digit code, which, to be fair, only leaves 16 if you only use two numerals for your 4-digit code, such as 4004. To summarize, if you're using a four-digit passcode, you should use four different numerals (i.e. If you use a long 8-digit code, you can basically use two or three numerals and still have an unguessable passcode (for example, 40044004). Even if you know which numerals are used, it's statistically not as easy to figure out a passcode as you might think, unless you choose a passcode that is profoundly stupid (i.e. 4321, 1234, 4444).

Is it possible to keep track of who entered the code and when it was entered?

No record

I need to lock both the front and back doors of my house. Is it possible to use the same Yale Assure key to open two Yale Assure locks?

If you're wondering whether the YRD226 can be re-purposed, the answer is yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes Bring the locks to a locksmith before installation and have them keyed alike; they can even match them to an existing Schlage key if you prefer. Alternatively, you can order a replacement tumbler from Yale and have it keyed to whatever you want.

Everything went according to plan. However, it appears that the locking motor is undersized, as it is unable to tolerate even minor misalignment between the bolt and the receptacle. br>br>Rain and temperature cause your bolt and receptacle to move in most homes. Wood has the ability to move. It's a fact. br>From the beginning, I couldn't get the Lock to work. br>br>Look for a lock that has both a keypad and a manual deadbolt - Schlage is one example. Your wrist is a lot more powerful than the Yale's flimsy motor. I've had this lock for over a year and have never had any issues with it. br>br>The Yale has been returned.

Yale Assure Lock Touchscreen Keypad in Satin Nickel (YRD226NR619) went out of service one month after the warranty expired
3/5

Satin Nickel Yale Assure Lock Touchscreen Keypad (YRD226NR619) Purchased at the end of March 2018 and due to expire at the end of April 2019. The keypad died (or something with the circuit board) one month after the warranty expired. When I returned home, there were no signs of death, just a DOA. The keypad is flickering and the battery is flashing. The batteries had been in storage for two months. Three times the batteries have been replaced, and three times the factory has been reset. There are still issues with the keypad, such as low battery warnings and a flickering panel. Fortunately, this is the key model, so I was able to gain access to the residence. If the keyless model had the same problem, you'd be screwed. This was mounted on a closed hallway door in a high-rise building. condo on a higher level There were no weather-related issues; it was just a total failure for no apparent reason. br>This page was last updated on May 3rd. I contacted tech support, which turned out to be a third-party (team August). The keypad has been determined to be dead, and a replacement will be sent. Saturday had come and gone. By Wednesday, at the very latest, an email with shipping information was supposed to arrive. It's Friday, and we haven't received any information. When I email back to team August, I get a script telling me to call customer service, option 1. If you call during their business hours, it will go straight to voicemail. I've left three messages over the course of three days and have yet to receive a response. I will never again purchase a Yale POS lock.

Don't be concerned about purchasing this ZWAVE lock
5/5

This is without a doubt the best smart lock I've ever installed or used. I've installed and used Kwikset and Schlage locks before, but this one outperformed them all. It instantly paired, performed admirably, and has an incredible battery life. I've got these connected to a Vera home controller, and it works great. br>br>The only time it can go wrong, and it's not even Yale's fault, is if the door isn't perfectly aligned or if you have to manually press the door to compensate for any trim seal around the frame. Aside from that, it's quiet, simple to operate and program, and it looks great. The bolt is tapered, so it can compensate for minor misalignment, but if at all possible, keep the action smooth. You'll be glad you did it. I bought four of these for my house, and automating those locks was well worth the money. br>br>TIP: If you are looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innovative br>br>1 - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innov If you're going to go completely keyless, make sure you have an easy-to-access entrance door. If these locks ever fail, the only way to unlock them is from the inside; if you have multiple ones that are easy to access, the chances of all of them failing at the same time are VERY slim, but make sure you have a backup plan in place just in case. br>br>2 - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innov After you've installed the locks, be sure to "hand" them. It's at this point that the lock determines whether your door is right or left handed (the direction in which the bolt actually locks). Rehanding these locks is a bit of a pain, as I discovered the hard way. This information is clearly missing from the instructions, so simply follow them step by step. Step by step, and everything will be fine. br>br>UPDATE 1/25/22: br>These smart locks are still the best available. I've given them as gifts, and everyone appreciates their dependability and versatility. I recently had to replace the batteries in my locks after nearly a year and a half of continuous use with manual and automated locking and unlocking. They continue to function as if they were brand new, and they have never failed or lost connection.

ok. I've had this lock for almost a year and it's fine, but not quite up to par. To begin, simply spend the extra money to upgrade to a connected lock. Without it, this thing is pretty useless. It opens after you enter the numbers. Technology that isn't particularly cutting-edge. That is all there is to it. Also irritating is the fact that if you linger in the doorway or place your hand anywhere near the pad while closing the door, the deadbolt will open, smashing your door frame to bits. Because of the dozens of times this has happened to me, my frame is permanently dented. I'll have to get a metal plate for that spot on the frame and hope it doesn't cause any damage to the lock. Finally, if you don't take your time entering numbers into the keypad, it can be a little finicky. However, it is secure and does not require the use of a key. So three stars for that.

It's a good lock, but there's one feature that I didn't notice
4/5

I needed to replace a manual Kwikset deadbolt, so I looked at Kwikset and other brands of basic and smart electronic locks before settling on this Yale based on its construction, quality, features, and overall positive reviews. I didn't even need to replace the striker plate because it easily replaced the Kwikset deadbolt. However, because this Yale deadbolt extends in a little further, I had to make the bolt hole deeper. It's not a major issue. The setup was simple and straightforward, thanks to the sparse instructions and a YouTube video. br>br>Based on my reviews of several locks and perhaps not doing enough research on this one, I was hoping for the ability to set a one-time password. After each use, the time pass code would expire. That's probably for locks that are a little "smarter. " I can always set the code and then delete it after it's been used, but that's not as foolproof and secure. Perhaps adding a smart module would provide this functionality, but it would also provide me with more features than I require, which is why I initially desired a simpler lock. Also, I'm not bothered by the fact that pressing any key on the keypad locks the door. I wish there was a lock key for it. Just a nitpick, but it's far too easy to lock yourself out. Otherwise, we'll adjust, and it's an excellent lock. br>br>In addition, Yale deserves praise for their packaging. Except for a few plastic bags to protect the shiny bits, everything was made of recyclable cardboard. There is no blister pack or shrink wrap on this item.
