In a nutshell, We bought this mainly due to concern about our apartment's management and maintenance staff having keys. We live in an apartment with only a deadbolt lock that can be opened from the outside with a key, and no alternative locking mechanism that can be accessed from the inside. It remains to be seen if this will truly help us, but it is still not very comforting to know if our only lock is compromised by a key, it will be far too late. After reading reviews and understanding its operation, I decided to buy this little lock. I was a little skeptical at first, but once I read more about it, I was sold. I'll just say it this thing makes total sense. People in a situation similar to mine will especially benefit from this feature, but anyone who is seeking extra security will also find it beneficial. The more relaxed I am, the better I will sleep at night. With a pencil, a drill, a drill bit, and a Phillips head screwdriver bit, I was able to install it in less than 5 minutes. Though the instructions could have been a little better, if you have a pair of eyes and are able to process thoughts easily, you shouldn't have any issues. People who live in apartments and are worried about drilling holes will find this to be very helpful There are four holes needed to accomplish this, which are hidden within the door casing and cannot be seen unless the door is opened. In any case, if you decide to remove them, they won't pay you a cent. There would be no evidence that this was ever there if you simply applied wood putty and painted. We now move on to more exciting topics. I'm impressed with the quality of this thing. There's no way anyone can get through here without destroying the entire door, as well as its casing. The interface is also extremely simple to use and it's easy to do both. A little extra security was added to the project by substituting 3 inch screws for the included ones. A big part of what attracted me was the arrow on the face plate. It is inset and easy to see, so someone who might not know how to unlatch the lock can figure it out right away. Taking a look will leave no doubt in your mind about what you should do. I threw my adjustable door brace bar, which was always in the way, took up a lot of space, and didn't look nice in the living room. *BR>I'm fully satisfied with the security of this door lock, which meets all my needs. The door of my older son always opens for everyone around him, so we needed a better solution to prevent him from doing that. How well does this work! If we opened our doors without realizing the lock was there, it broke. We have tried other locks on our doors but they were not as reliable. We are happy to see this lock holding up so well! This item is wonderful and I would buy it a million more times for the sake of my mental health!.

First of all, let me say that the instructions are far from clear. My rather limited carpentry skills, coupled with some good old-fashioned logic, guided me to the right way to install the lock. While it took me a while to figure out how it all worked, once I installed it, it worked great and provided excellent protection for the door it was installed on. The screws that came with the lock turned out to be inferior to zinc-plated 3" flat head wood screws with countersinking nibs, so I substituted those A solid rock now stands in place of the door. Especially after I replaced all the short screws and 3" screws on the strike plate and hinges with 3" screws, I doubt anyone will be able to kick in the door. It is installed on the pedestrian door to my garage, which is located at the back of my garage, so it's not visible from the road. Over the door, I had previously installed a very bright motion detector security light, but decided it was time to upgrade the lock Compared to the old door knob lock and cheap little slide bolt lock that was used to secure the door, this lock is far more reliable and secure. I realized why it would be so easy for a burglar to break into my garage and rob me of everything I have there when I watched some videos on YouTube. The lock I installed will allow me to sleep greater peace at night because I won't have to worry about the typical burglar kicking in the door or soaking himself. Due to the inadequate instructions and the inferior screws that were provided, I deducted one star from my rating.
