This lock is installed on the side door of my garage and it is very secure. Unfortunately, it was put to the test when someone attempted to break in but was unsuccessful due to the lock. The screws that came with it were a little short, so I replaced them with longer ones and am glad I did. They were able to break the glass on my door but not get inside. No one will be able to get in now that the door is more secure and the lock is installed. It's very simple to set up and use. I wasn't sure how well this would hold up if someone tried to break down my door, but it worked perfectly! Even after all of their kicking and pushing, the screws remained in the wall and the lock remained closed. It worked so well that it left marks on my old door, but the lock itself was in perfect working order. I will enthusiastically recommend this lock to anyone and everyone.

  Let me begin by saying that I could not be happier with this product. br>br>We live in an apartment with only a deadbolt lock that can be opened from the outside with a key, and no alternative inside locking mechanism that cannot be accessed from the outside. br>br>We purchased this primarily because we were concerned that maintenance and management staff had keys to our door. While this shouldn't be a problem, it's still unsettling to know that our only lock is technically vulnerable if a key falls into the wrong hands. br>br>At first, I was hesitant about this small lock, but after reading reviews and learning how it works, I decided to give it a try. br>First and foremost, let me state that this is a no-brainer. It's especially useful for people in situations like mine, but it's also a good option for anyone looking for added security. Now I'll be able to get a good night's sleep. With a pencil, a drill, a drill bit, and a Phillips head screwdriver bit, I was able to put it together in less than 5 minutes. The instructions were a little lacking, but if you have eyes and can process thoughts, you'll have no trouble figuring it out. Those who live in apartments and are concerned about drilling holes will appreciate the fact that - The four holes you'll need are hidden within the door casing and are only visible when the door is open. If you ever decide to take it off, they'll be barely noticeable. There would be no evidence that this was ever there if you just used wood putty and paint. br>br>Now it's time to get down to business. This is a STRONG piece of equipment. Nobody is going to get through this without destroying the entire door and casing in the process. It's also very simple to get involved and get out of things. To add a layer of security, I replaced the included screws with 3 inch screws. This little guy is for you if you're looking for a little extra peace of mind. br>br>The included screws were a little short for my liking, but I'm sure they would have worked just fine. br>br>If you're looking for a little extra peace of mind, this little guy is for you. br>br>For the less-than-ideal instructions and shorter-than-desired screws, I considered deducting a star. But, as I previously stated, installing this device is a piece of cake, and common sense easily compensates for the lack of instructions. When it came down to it, the screws were a matter of personal taste. It's understandable that this must appeal to a wide range of applications, so the screws must reflect this. If you don't have any 3 inch screws on hand, it's simple and inexpensive to pick up a box (if you don't already have one) and use them instead. I'm not sure how many stars I can take away because of it. br>br>To summarize. I'd buy it again, and I'll tell everyone I know who's looking for something similar.

This lock is one of my favorites. I was a little concerned about whether it would perform as well as the Defender lock and whether I would be able to easily install it on the door frame of a 1928 10-year-old car. The door frame of a unit in a city apartment building. It was successful, and I am pleased with the result. On a professional level, it's solid, firm, and dependable. br>I hang it about 10 inches above the door chain every night (I live in earthquake-prone San Francisco, so the frame/door isn't level like it would be in a brand new modern square-frame house). building that is newer br>It was the arrow on the face plate that drew me in. For someone who doesn't know how to unlatch this lock, it's inset and easy to see. Simply take a look and you will know exactly what to do. My adjustable door brace bar, which was always in the way, took up space, and was unappealing to look at, was banished to the storage room. This rock solid door lock meets all of my security needs. I made the right decision.

Does an excellent job! My two oldest children, ages 4 and 2, have figured out every type of child lock imaginable, including a deadbolt child lock, and while I am impressed, I am also terrified. My oldest enjoys opening doors for strangers, so we needed a better way to prevent him from doing so. This is fantastic! We've tried other locks on our doors, but they would break if we opened the door without thinking about the lock. This lock has proven to be durable. We adore it, and I'd buy it a million times over just to keep my sanity!.

To begin, I'd like to point out that the instructions are woefully inadequate. Using my limited carpentry skills and some good old-fashioned logic, I had to figure out how to install the lock properly. It took me a while to figure out how to install it, but once I did, it works perfectly and provides excellent protection for the door on which it is mounted. Because the screws that came with the lock were not to my liking, I replaced them with zinc-plated 3" flat head wood screws with countersinking nibs. The door has become impenetrable. I seriously doubt anyone will be able to kick in the door now that all of the short hinge screws and strike plate screws have been replaced with 3" screws. The lock is installed on my garage's pedestrian door, which is located at the back of the garage and is not visible from the street. I had previously installed a very bright motion detector security light over the door, but I decided it was time to upgrade the lock as well. This lock is a significant improvement over the door knob lock and the cheap little slide bolt lock that were previously used to secure the door. After watching a few YouTube videos, I realized how simple it would be for a burglar to break in and steal everything in my garage. With this lock installed, I'll be able to sleep better at night knowing that a typical burglar won't be able to kick in or pry open the door. Because of the inadequate instructions and screws provided, I deducted one star from my rating.
