Simply put, DON'T DO IT! It is IMPOSSIBLE to set up! I'm at a loss for words to express my disappointment and frustration with this item. br>br>1 - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innov The app is not available on Google Play and must be downloaded directly from the developer's website, where you will be bombarded with popups in Chinese.
2 - It's not possible to set up this device. "Difficult" isn't a word I'd use to describe it. "Frustrating" isn't the right word. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.
3 - A new hole must be drilled in your door for installation. This hole is not in a typical location, and it will be visible if the lock is ever replaced.
4 - Did I mention that putting the unit together is nearly impossible?
5 - The "instructions" are as easy to understand as mud. PRO TIP - LEARN THE LANGUAGE IF YOU WANT TO SELL YOUR PRODUCTS TO ENGLISH-SPEAKING PEOPLE! Alternatively, you could hire someone to write your instructions in proper English.

  I received my Smonet Smart Lock and was blown away by how nice and well-made it is. br>br>Well, my husband anticipated a lengthy installation, but after reading the instructions, our new Smart Lock was up and running in less than 30 minutes. I'm still in awe of what this lock can accomplish! You have the option of manually unlocking your door with a key, entering an access code on the touchscreen, using the TTLOCK app on your smartphone, or using your fingerprint (which is my personal favorite). br>br>Codes can be assigned to trusted users (permanent codes) or to guests (temporary codes). You can grant access to your home to visitors by sending them a one-time password. Text message with a time-specific access code (different for each guest). You can choose how long the code will work; You can delete any code at any time to deny access to anyone, and you can track who is coming in and out of your house with the timestamp and how they accessed your lock (mobile, manually, touchscreen, IC CARD (2 included), or by fingerprint) using the TTLOCK mobile app. br>br>The handles are reversible, but only before installation; you can also charge the lock via powerbank; the app displays the remaining battery life; and you'll need 4 AA batteries (not included). br>br>A door sensor and a Wi-Fi connection are also included with this lock. Updated: 30th of May, 2021 br>I discovered that the Gateway didn't require a power cord. Having keyless entry is a great convenience for me. I had fingerprints ready for all of us. br>However, I'm having trouble getting the passcode to work. I created one, but when I tried it out, the code didn't work. When I'm 3 hours away from home, I can't get the door to unlock with my phone. I assumed that since I had the Gateway, I would be able to unlock it using my phone. This door lock is very convenient for me. br>br> We bought it to use as a rental cottage, but there are some fees that I don't agree with.
1. I don't like the fact that we need a Gateway to set codes and such when we're 3 hours away from home. Because the description did not make it clear that the Gateway was required, I did not purchase one. I needed it if I was going to use Alexa, which we don't have, and I needed to let someone in for next week and couldn't create a passcode for him from my house 3 hours away, so now I have to buy a Gateway, take a day off work, and drive 3 hours up to the cottage to set up the Gateway in order for my phone to connect with the lock for what I needed.
2. When I was at the cottage last week, I set my finger print and everything went well. I left, and when I returned, I tried to open the door with my finger print, but it wouldn't work, so I had to use the actual door key instead. Hmmm.
3. I also discovered that purchasing the Gateway does not include a power cord, which I find absurd given the amount of money I spent on both the lock and the Gateway.
4. I paid 169 for the lock, and now I have to pay another 38 for the Gateway, as well as who knows how much for the power cord; I'm currently at 210. If you buy this lock, I recommend getting the one that comes with the Gateway for 189 dollars, but I'm not sure if it comes with a power cord, so you might end up spending more than 200 dollars like I did.
5. Is it something I would buy again? Yes, I see the value of having a Gateway now.

Because the lock can't be used on my front door because it's not weatherproof, Smonet is offering a $50 gift card. My new lock, like the old one, won't work if it's raining outside; I even tried covering it with a rigged-up plastic case to protect it from the elements, but it didn't work. If it's raining outside, don't bother trying to get inside; there's nothing like being soaked to the bone an hour later trying to get inside. Someone please tell me how to contact the company to find out what to do about this lock that keeps you locked out in the rain! Update! My new lock arrived and is in perfect working order. It was stressful to be stuck for a week with a broken lock and only two hard keys! On that note, you cannot have keys made at a hardware store; you must have them made by a locksmith, so keep that in mind. In terms of the company, they did send me a new lock, but they need a better way of communicating with me, such as a phone number so I can call them directly instead of going through Amazon. I contacted the company and was told that a new lock would be delivered shortly. When I get the new lock, I'll update my review. Hopefully, the first one was just a fluke, and the second one will be fantastic! For the first month, it worked extremely well. br>Then, when I replaced the batteries, it wasn't as bad. The blue light that rotates around the fingerprint scanner will not read fingerprints. br>After futile attempts at problem-solving and a Google search, I contacted customer service; I have yet to hear back, so 11 hours later, I have an extremely expensive door handle. I would advise staying away from this product due to the lack of customer support other than an email address and no response.
