The lock itself is attractive, but I was unable to get it to work properly after following the installation instructions provided. I have a right-hand door, and I followed the manual's instructions to place the bottom on the right side, but nothing happened. Then I tried it on the left side to see if it would work, but it didn't. After becoming frustrated, I turned to the YouTube video for step-by-step instructions on how to re-create the effect. I reinstalled the entire lock in the same manner as before, just to see if it would work. Nothing happened, so I worked backwards (opening when it needed to close, closing when it needed to open). I then proceeded to install the app and pair the wifi hub, attempting to operate the lock via the app several times but receiving no response. After messing around with the app, I noticed one of the options under settings said door opening direction was not selected, so I selected right side because that's where my door is, and tried to open it again, but nothing happened. Then I decided to try the left side, and lo and behold, open sesame began to work! I suppose you just have to try everything, even if it isn't the right one; I wish it was easier, but it worked, which was the goal. For the time being, it appears to be working satisfactorily. I hope this information is useful to other users in troubleshooting.
With a chisel and drill, I was able to install the lock and widen the hole for the strike plate in 35 minutes. Without the APP, I wouldn't be able to do this. I couldn't download it because I didn't have access to the internet, so I couldn't create an account. So now I'm stuck with the physical keys, of which they provided five, which was nice; this set also comes with a wifi gateway, which is a huge plus; there's no need to buy it separately. I finally got the lock to work with Bluetooth; there's a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, you're good to go. In terms of the operation, I didn't like how you had to first tap the screen before entering any codes. And, just like in the APP, you must press and hold the sign for three seconds to lock the device. Why isn't there simply a "Lock" button/picture/logo to press, as there is with other locks? I'll have to remind the users of this, but you can do it yourself! You can send them the passcodes via text message using the APP. directions in a written message All you have to do now is add the line "to unlock, hold the key for 3 seconds. " The deadbolt glides open and shut with ease. The deadbolt was slightly thinner than a standard deadbolt and a little wobbly, so the security wasn't great. The strike plate was a flimsy piece of metal with a single hole in the center and two screw holes. The screws that came with the kit were incredibly short, measuring less than an inch in length! This can be kicked in by any kid, which is why I needed to buy a new strike plate with multiple holes and 3" wood screws. I'll have to mortise and install it for another half hour. In a city like Cali, where crime is at an all-time high, you can't afford to take any chances. As long as you have a security latch, two tiny screws and a small piece of metal should suffice if you're in a safe state. Then nothing is 100%, so I wish they at least gave longer screws at least they gave longer screws at least they gave longer screws at least Overall, the device is attractive, functional, and simple to operate. Note: I don't get paid to leave reviews, so if you could please click the "Helpful" button below, it would be greatly appreciated and would only take 2 seconds. Thank you very much!.
Love it! It's simple to set up, and I like that you can assign individual codes to people so you can keep track of who has opened the door. You can also give people temporary codes that expire and lock and unlock with the app or Alexa. Alexa is nice because you can lock it but to unlock it, just say Alexa unlock front door and she will ask for your code!.
Alexa was quick to pick it up and is responding well. All you have to do is make sure that the locking receptacle between the keypad and the manual lock (where the pin goes in) is turned in the proper position when you install it. It will not function properly if this is not done. The lock will not engage unless it is turned correctly. The portion depicted in the image.
I was able to get this lock to sdd an additional measure. My Mom's house will be safe. I've never installed any kind of lock before, let alone a high-tech smart lock. br>br>Do not be afraid- It was very simple to set up. I didn't have to drill because the existing holes were functional. I decided not to use two internal screws after performing a fit check, primarily because I didn't have a drill on hand. However, I quickly realized that their worth was insignificant- With or without them, the lock is perfectly secure. br>br>I think it took me about 30 minutes to install it. The majority of that time was spent attempting to remove the deadbolt hardware, which had been installed 40 years ago. Since then, the lock has performed as expected. br>br>Because I needed remote access, I chose the gateway. Once again, the setup was simple. quick. I checked Bluetooth, wifi, passcodes, and Amazon Alexa functionality in a matter of minutes. keys. I can't believe I completed all of that in such a short period of time. br>br>Alexa compatibility was essential because I wanted my mother to be able to use her Amazon Echo to operate the lock. Quickly once more. It was a relatively painless procedure. br>br>In comparison to the locks I looked into at Lowes, I recommend this one. This setup cost me around $140. Lowes had comparable ones for $230 or more.
I am 81 years old and was able to complete the installation in under an hour. The step-by-step instructions were simple to understand and follow. Without issue, I downloaded the app and entered the code to operate the lock from my phone. With a 5-star rating, I strongly suggest this lock. I only had one question, which Jenny at customer service quickly answered. Jenny, thank you for responding so quickly.
P. It also appears to be quite appealing.
Installing it myself was a breeze, and adding personal codes was a breeze if the instructions were read and followed carefully. After several months of use, it appears to be safe, and I have no concerns or problems with it. This is a product that I would recommend.
Because of my error, the lock didn't work properly at first. Melody was my Tec after I called customer service. When we agreed, she called me and stayed with me throughout the troubleshooting process, giving very specific instructions, and everything worked out in the end. I was about to return it, but thanks to this extremely knowledgeable and courteous young lady, it now functions properly. Melody made the whole thing a lot of fun. She is deserving of a substantial pay increase.
