Questions & Answers

What is the width of these hinges? I need to figure out how much room the hinges will take up. ?

Although the product description states that they are 1 inch wide, I would recommend leaving at least 1 inch. To be on the safe side, go with 25.

Is it possible to use these hinges on a partially inset panel?

Only if there is sufficient clearance on the panel's side.

Is it okay if I use one pair of hinges for a panel that is 36 inches wide?

The hinges are strong enough to last as long as you use them for what they were designed for, which is a sink front panel. A lot depends on the panel's size and weight, as well as whether or not it has any flex in the middle, which could cause a problem. A standard sink panel, even one that is 36" long, should suffice.

How tall are you? I'm currently using a 4 inch?

The hinge can be four inches tall.

Soft close hinge is excellent
5/5

Excellent soft-close hinge, far superior to the spring-loaded snap-close type. After reading all of the helpful reviews on how to install them, I devised a method that took me about 45 minutes to complete.
1. Make reference marks on the right and left sides, as well as the top center, with masking tape before removing the face panel. You'll be able to re-use this information. When putting the panel back together, make sure it's in the same relative position.
2. Remove the panel and mask the inside 3/4" edge of the face frame with masking tape. Set the hinge on top of the spacer, flush with the cabinet face, and mark the screw hole locations, using a 1/4" piece of masonite as a spacer.
3. Pre- Install hinges on the right and left sides after drilling pilot holes with a 3/32" bit. br>4. On both sides of the cabinet opening, adjacent to the hinge, I used double-faced foam tape. I also used masking tape on the back side of the panel where the hinge will be attached.
5. The panel was then taped in place over the double-sided tape, with additional masking tape added for support in case the foam tape came undone. Re- To ensure that the panel returns to its original position, align your reference marks.
6. Now it's time to get down to business. Use one finger to gently press the hinge tab against the back side of the panel from underneath the cabinet, and the other hand to mark the hinge hole locations with a Sharpie. The masking tape support will catch and hold the panel if it becomes loose or moves away from the double-faced foam tape. Re- Make sure your alignment is correct before attempting again. A flashlight, as well as some patience, are helpful.
7. Remove the panel now that the back has been marked and drill a 3/32" pilot hole, taking care not to drill all the way through. After drilling, pre-install a screw in each of the four holes. make a hole and thread it
8. Install one screw in each hinge with a stubby Phillips head screwdriver or a 1/4" ratchet wrench with a Phillips bit, leaving it snug but flexible.
9. Close the panel and double-check for alignment, making any necessary adjustments. Then install the remaining two screws after fully tightening the first two.
10. The difficult part is now complete. Install the cabinet pull handle before putting the tray in place. br>I put these on a 36" wide sink panel, and it works perfectly. I'm going to order three more sets for various projects around the house. Best of luck! br>(Please excuse the blurry photos; this is my first time using the new camera. ).

The hinges are very nice
5/5

Download the installation instructions as soon as possible. So far, these have been fantastic - It took me about 30 minutes to put them in place. You may be faster/slower/sloppier than me because I measure about 7 times before I start drilling holes. br>br>I've only had them for a day, but they're exactly what I was looking for. br>br>No, there were no instructions included. Although some people may not require instructions, I strongly advise that you read them at the very least. If you type "rsld_0220_50sc" into your search engine, you'll get a lot of results. Search for "pdf" or "soft-copy" if you prefer. close remark- out hinge installation instructions," you'll find excellent instructions in a 4-page booklet. a one-page PDF document br>br>Some of the screws were a pain for me to install because my shortest phillips head screwdriver was obstructed by a kitchen sink and odd angles. Here's where the mechanical engineer in me goes off on a rant about how phillips- Head screws are completely inappropriate for this application; a nice torx (star) head would be far superior. However, I understand that many consumers are perplexed by Torx. br>br>Overall, highly recommended. I'll keep this up to date as time goes on.

For a complete closure, center the hinge
4/5

I agree with many of the comments that detailed instructions would be helpful. I didn't require them for installation, but I discovered that the drawer would not close completely, leaving me dissatisfied. After giving it some more thought, I raised the hinges by 3/4 inch and removed the bumpers from the bottom of the drawer front. The drawer would close completely and on its own after completing both remedies. I'm not sure which one worked, but I believe it was moving the hinge to a more central position rather than at the bottom of the cabinet opening. This is where having instructions would come in handy to alleviate some of the frustrations that can arise during the installation process. I put in a 34-inch drawer front. 5 inches wide by 5 inches tall Because I'm only 5" tall, I had some issues that others might not have. I believe that the smaller the drawer, the less precise the hinge placement on the cabinet frame should be. br>br>I'm writing this in the hopes of providing more insight into how to improve the installation process. This would be a five-star review if I didn't have to spend extra time uninstalling and adjusting the settings.

There is no template, no instructions, and the product is repackaged or counterfeit
3/5

When you buy these pre-packaged from shelf, they include instructions and a template. My products, however, despite claiming to be Rev-a-Lot, aren't exactly Rev-a-Lot. ROK HARDWARE was responsible for the packaging on this shelf. There were no instructions or a template provided by Rok Hardware. Without instructions, they aren't difficult to install, but without a template, they can be a real pain. It's a setback. I'm not sure if they're Rev-a-Lot or not. Is this a shelf's product that Rok Hardware just bought in bulk and repackaged, or are these cheap knockoffs? It's too early to tell if they'll hold up because I just installed them today. br>br>The product appears to be in good working order; I installed it under my countertop stove, so the drawer is 36" long. The soft closing was very effective. Because the hinge was flush with the front of the cabinet, there was a small gap at the bottom of the drawer. The drawer front seemed to close best when it was mounted about 1/8th of an inch set back from the front. br>br>I'm all for saving a few bucks, and I love Amazon, but having the template would've saved me 15 bucks. 20 minutes of contortion in yet-to-be-named yoga poses, as well as measuring and marking the holes.
