Questions & Answers
Berta's answer of 3mm refers to the cutout's edge, not its center. 13/16" or if you want it to be more formal. The distance between the cutout's edge and its center is 8125" (as seen in Berta's YouTube videos). This brings us to the number twenty. 6375mm. The diameter of the circle is 17 millimeters. 5mm, leaving approximately 3mm on the piece's edge. Although it appears to be a tight fit, I suppose anything will suffice!
With a hack, it can be done. I was disappointed to discover that the opposing claws were 3/4" apart when I installed them on my 1" face frame - That restriction was not mentioned in the description. To make room for the rear claws, I carved out 1/4" of the backs of the frames. The hinges cover the gouges, so it's a win-win situation.

By design, I've never seen this type of hinge with a smaller overlay than 1/2". It's a good idea to double-check your overlay size. A picture of the overlay dimension measurement location can be found in the part description. If you absolutely must have 5/16", I believe you have a few options to consider. You could try adjusting the cup location if the doors don't already have cups drilled in them. Given that the cup may collide with the door's outside edge, this appears to be a high-risk maneuver. You could also try putting a thin rock under the face frame's hinge base. Finally, you might want to think about long arm stable hinges versus face frame mounted hinges. You might be able to come across something that is more adaptable.

This product was used in conjunction with a Kreg jig that had the edge set to 3mm. It's a nice clearance. The frame's mounting was simple. In every direction, the adjustment was the best I'd ever used. In comparison, the value was fantastic. The soft close feature is fantastic, and one of my customers mentioned it just today in their high-end home. I bought it because of the application, size, and adjustment options, as well as the low price. I, as well as my valued customers, would like to express our gratitude.
These hinges are well-fitting and appear to be of good quality so far. It's incredibly simple to put together and adjust. My door was precisely the right size. Once you get past the first 45 degrees or so, the closure is smooth. I'd prefer a little more control in the first half of the swing, but that's a minor quibble. Overall, I am very pleased with these hinges, and they were purchased at a reasonable price.
I needed a low-profile hinge because I wanted to install the widest shelf/drawer possible. At the same time, I'd always despised the snap-back. Close hinges I had abused the cabinet doorstop slam shut, so soft close was a must, and these perfectly fit the bill. After I finished installing them, I realized I had one cabinet that required hinges that opened slightly less than these - It was a little too much with the 105° opening. I looked to see if they had 95 - I couldn't find anything. There are no 100° versions for sale. After that, I went through the Q&A section of the website. There's a section here to see if anyone has asked about this before, and it turns out that someone has. I dialed the number provided by the company in response to my question. Because the gentleman responded with a simple hello instead of a business greeting, I'm guessing this is a small in-home business. I explained that I needed hinges that opened at a smaller angle. He inquired as to the number of angles required, as well as the address to which they should be sent. Then he sent them to me free of charge via priority mail! I believe he was able to modify the hinges that were already there. They worked perfectly, and the customer service was excellent! Just a word of caution - Because all hinges of this style are 3/4 inch thick, it appears that the standard cabinet face frame is 3/4 inch thick; however, mine are closer to 7/8" - Just a smidgeon more dense. Because this low-profile style of hinge does not have any 7/8" options, I made it work. I simply smashed them in place, allowing the prongs to lightly mash the wood on the inside of the frame. Nobody will be able to tell the difference once it has been installed. They're still functional, and I'll be able to order much larger pulleys in the future. I'm not slamming doors any longer. I'm in a great mood right now!.
If you have a 35mm bore drilling kit that aligns the hole and drills to the proper depth, this hidden hinge is simple to install. The kit is available in a few different forms. The kit from the "blue" company worked perfectly for me.
These hinges are fantastic, and they're a bargain compared to big-box store hinges. My only criticism is that the screws holding the hinges in place are a little too small. We had a problem with one of the hinges coming loose all the time because the screw couldn't stand up to the rigors of daily life in this environment. As a result, I had to have my husband replace that screw with a larger one that went deeper into the wood and sat better over the hinge. Otherwise, they function as expected and are excellent hinges.
We bought the Amazon Basic hinge, but discovered that it only had one or two adjustments, whereas we needed three to fit our existing cabinet frames and doors. The process of drilling the hinge pockets in the doors was simple and straightforward when you pair the hinges with the recommended Kreg Jeg hinge drill bit. br>br>We have had the hinges in place for about 3 weeks and so far, everything has gone well.
I was a little hesitant at first. You get what you pay for in this case. These things close at an almost unbearably slow pace. br>br>I purchased these to soften the close of my cabinets. When I first got these out, I was annoyed by them because they were so much more expensive than the Everbilt cabinets I could get at Home Depot for like 5x the price; however, I later discovered, much to my surprise, that if I just replaced one of the cabinets (which was less work! ), I could save a lot of money. ) I got a similar result as I did when I replaced all three with Everbilt ones. Some doors required two, while others only required one. I believe their manufacturing tolerances aren't the best, or it's possible I didn't align the doors properly on the ones that required two. Also, at first, I was irritated by the hole openings because they didn't match where the previous contractor had drilled the holes in my hardwoods. However, it was discovered that by adjusting one of the three adjustments, the bracket could be moved in such a way that it would work. br>br>Overall, I chose them because I needed to replace fewer cabinet hinges (which saved me time) and they were so cheap. They've met my expectations.
Soft close cabinet doors were not available in my 20-year-old home. Blum created the original hinges. To test them out, I bought two of the Blum soft close hinges and two of these. The Blum hinges close the doors slightly slower than the Berta hinges, but the Berta hinges are significantly less expensive, so I purchased 50 Berta hinges to soft-close all of the doors. Only one new hinge was required to softly close the doors with two hinges. There are four hinges on each of my two doors. On each of those, I replaced two. All of them are softly closing now. I also used felt pads to replace the worn-out rubber door bumpers. The doors are now closing slowly and silently.
