hinges in the style of I looked everywhere for a Kreg 35mm hinge kit but couldn't find it. I needed to put hinges on a cabinet I was building (this was my first time doing so). The jig's box doubles as a shipping box (shipping label on the bottom, product label on the top) and can be used to store the jig. br>I read a lot of the reviews and was hesitant to buy it, but I needed the hinges. br>I wasn't let down in the least. br>The instructions were written by someone who did not speak English as a first language. They were, however, relatively simple to decipher. br>The entire unit is sturdy and does not flex much when in use - When you're trying to find the hinges with precision, this is helpful. Everything except the hinges and a screwdriver is included in the package: the jig base, bit cage/holder, 35mm Forstner bit, a small bit for drilling the screw pilot holes, a locator pin, a bit depth stop collar, a ball end allen wrench to tighten the collar, the instructions, and adapters to use with 26mm hinges (no 26mm bit). br>It was simple enough once I figured out how it worked. As instructed by my hinges, I set the edge stops to 5mm (door edge to hole edge), inserted the locator pin in the appropriate hole (4" from the bottom/top edge of the door), and installed the bit in the holder. I began drilling after clamping the jig to the door. br>It's worth noting that 1) the bit produces a lot of torque once it starts biting into the wood, and 2) there are a lot of shavings. I had my shop vac on hand to help remove the shavings, which would otherwise clog the bit holder if not removed. To avoid overheating the bit, I recommend using a slower drill speed and keeping the chips clear. br>Once the depth of the 35mm hole was reached, I removed the bit cage and used the pilot hole bit to drill the screw holes in the 46mm spaced holes in the jig body without moving the jig body. (The instructions state that you should mark the locations, then remove the jig and drill. ) ) After that, I took the jig apart, repositioned the locator pin on the opposite side of the jig, clamped it to the opposite end of the door, and repeated the process. I finished all four doors quickly and the hinges were perfect. br>A dull bit was mentioned in a couple of reviews. With the one I got, that was not the case. I'd buy this bit again and save some money over the name-brand version because it was very sharp and didn't require any carbide sharpening. One that is branded.

It was a success. For cabinet hinge work, this is a must-have. This jig made it simple for me to install soft close hinges on my kitchen cabinets. Plastic is sturdy, and the bit is sharp. Drilled 50 hinge holes in oak doors, including the last hinge, which was drilled identically to the first!.

I'd appreciate it if someone from the company could get in touch with me. This lasted 6 doors before the plastic piece melted and completely ruined my cabinet door. After spending $30, I now have a messed-up cabinet door and nine more doors to finish. To avoid this, I waited an hour between each hole to allow them to cool, as well as using a shop vac.

My overall rating is based on the amount of money you get for your money. I'm not a cabinet maker, but I do happen to be working on a few. The bit is sharp, and I believe it will last a long time if I treat it properly; I don't believe it is HSS (high-speed steel), but it is standard diameter, shaft included, so it can be replaced if necessary. Because it's plastic, don't clamp it too tightly, and keep the drill in line instead of relying on this guide as a holder. Sheerness was docked a star because it's made of molded plastic and smells like ABS. It would have been better if it had been made of polyester, possibly reinforced with fibers. I recommend that you try it out and play around with it before applying it to your final project.

This is a fantastic tool. I just finished making 25 cabinet doors with soft touch hinges in a matter of minutes. Clamps and a slew of extra steps are depicted in the instructions and video. I had some old exterior facing hinges that needed to be replaced. I used the old mounting holes as a guide, but you can skip those steps if you use the guide tip and have plenty of down force. I strongly advise you to use it. It includes a depth guide, Allen wrench, drill bit, and guide rod, as well as additional spacers for various applications. If you want precise placement from the top and bottom of your cabinet door, use the guide rod.

The Kreg jig is a good example. I prefer to purchase genuine goods, but the kreg jig was out of stock, and I needed something right away! I'm blown away by how well-made this is! I would strongly advise this, and I believe it was also less expensive.

I'd never used a hinge jig before, let alone installed one like this, but it was so simple that even I could do it. Everything was included in this tool, which made it very simple.
