Questions & Answers

I'm not going to use the spacer. Is it possible to purchase the spacer separately?

The spacer is only required if your cabinet door overlay is less than 1". I only have a 1/2" at the moment, so this unit was necessary. I plan to upgrade my doors in the future and then remove the spacer. But these are ideal; in fact, for less than $4 per door, all of my cabinet doors are now soft close. My drawer slides, on the other hand, were around $25 each!

Is it metal or plastic that these are made of?

They are made of metal, with the exception of the spacer, which is made of plastic. I have 80 of them in my house and am very pleased with them. I would recommend purchasing a flex bit for your drill to install them; this made the process much easier.

What is the procedure for setting up?

Position your cabinet by placing the spacer on the hinge. Drill a hole in the wood with your pilot drill bit through the hinge. Drill a pilot hole through the dent, then screw the hinge in place with the included screw, which is drilled through the pilot hole. To increase or decrease dampening resistance when the hinge catches the door, adjust the damper using the screw adjustment built into the hinge. A flex drill bit or a small power drill might be required if your cabinet opening is narrow. You won't be able to square the angle if you don't do it this way. Other users have shared videos that may be of assistance.

Is it possible to use these with Salice hinges?

As long as the hinges are self-closing - The blumotion hinge adapter, which connects at the top of the door to slow it down as it closes rather than attaching to the hinge, should work just fine. I've had mine for a few years and they're still going strong. You can adjust the tension for different door sizes and weights.

close. However, there are a few things to think about. These come with a spacer, which I found I needed in a couple of places (due to crowded door hinges). The spacer that comes with the kit is fantastic - It literally snaps into place on the pneumatic device, making installation a breeze. However, there's a catch with these gadgets. A near-zero-cost option is required. drilling for clearance - TIGHT clearance, to say the least - to prepare the holes for drilling I have one (flexible shaft with hex drive), but you won't be able to get them into the corner unless you have one. If this is a concern for you, opt for one of the other types of devices that allow for a diagonal screw pilot. You can then drill those holes with just about any hand-drill (I installed two of these diagonal pilot holes). I've seen it both ways because I have all of the devices in my house). Still, I adore these devices, and the only reason I didn't give them a five-star rating is because of the limited access they provide when drilling. They're simple to adjust and work well with narrow (lightweight) doors (11 inches). 5" x 44"), and it works equally well with larger doors (20. (approximately 5" x 24") Oh, and there was one more strange thing. Some of the devices in the bag I received only had the short screw, while others only had the long screw, and still others had both screws? It all worked out for me because I was having some placement issues and the combination was perfect for me.

Because of the "self-serving" nature of the "self-serving" nature of the "self-serving" nature of the "self-serving" nature of the "self-serving" nature of the self-serving nature "Hinge slamming. " I was looking for retrofit hinges that didn't require much redrilling or refitting when I came across this little device. It sounded too good to be true, but after reading so many glowing reviews, I decided to give it a shot. br>br>When they arrived (I purchased a 15-pound bag), I was pleasantly surprised. I took one out of the pack and used my thumb to press the grey plunger. I had my doubts. It's far too difficult to press the button. I didn't believe my self-confidence could be improved in any way. These would be able to withstand slamming kitchen cabinet doors. On the outside, I put one in. the- I put a door above the refrigerator so that if I had to remove it, the hole would be hidden. My apprehensions dissipated quickly. Using an awl, I marked where the screw would go in the cabinet frame after holding the device in place. I drilled a small pilot hole and screwed it in (I used a flexible shaft on my drill for both drilling the pilot hole and driving the screw so I could be parallel to the cabinet top). Easy- peasy. For each door, it will take about five minutes. br>br>Check to see if your current cabinet hinges are self-closing. (Mine were more like "self-" closings) "slamming" is a word that comes to mind when someone says "slamm This won't work with a standard hinge because it necessitates the use of the self-locking mechanism. To apply pressure to the soft tissue, close the hinge. Plunger should be closed. br>br>It took me about an hour and a half to install 14 of these. It can be used on both the left and right sides. or right- doors that hinge br>br>It's been a few weeks since I installed them, and I'm still amused when I try to slam one of my kitchen cabinets shut, only to have it stop and slowly close the last couple of inches. My bathroom vanities, unfortunately, are all soft-close cabinets. I won't be able to install any more of these because the hinges are closed. br>br>It's a great device for a great price, and it's a lot less expensive (and easier!) than it used to be. ) rather than having to replace all of the cabinet hinges I'm in ecstasy right now.

They're fantastic
5/5

I've had a few other types of these cheap soft closers for years and have been fixing/changing them as needed, but they've all eventually failed. I began switching to this type 5 years ago, and they have proven to be the best so far, and I am in the process of replacing all of them. Please give yourself a taste, start with these, and save yourself some time later.

With two young children, you can imagine how many slammed kitchen cabinets I've heard
5/5

I had been looking for something like this. The process of installation is straightforward. It took longer than anything else for me to figure out what "overlay" meant. Hopefully, this review will aid others in determining whether or not they require the included spacer. Overlay simply refers to how much wider the door is than the cabinet door's actual opening. If your cabinet is 30" wide and your door is 32," you have 1" overlay on each side; if you have more than 1" overlay, you don't need spacers; if you have less than 1" overlay, you do.

This is an excellent product
4/5

If you take this crucial step, you will be successful. This is the fourth or fifth set I've bought. They're incredibly simple to set up and work flawlessly as long as your door has a natural desire to close when it's about to shut. Unfortunately, they come with drywall screws or cheap screws that will break during installation. As a result, the first thing you should do is discard the screw package that came with it. 100 WOOD screws (size 8 x 1-inch) are available for $6. 1/4 IN) from a hardware store near you. It should take you 15 seconds to install each hinge once you have the correct screws. br>br>Now it's time to enjoy the peace and quiet of the cabinets throughout the house!.
