Before using any type of sealer, make sure your grout lines are clean. You should never use a sealer on grout that is dirty or discolored. That's how they'll always be! "Fresh Start 2000" has proven to be the best grout cleaner in my experience. Combine with water to make a paste. Apply the solution with a spray bottle. Use a small stiff brush to scrub the surface. It's simple and straightforward to use, and it'll restore the appearance of your grout. If you're applying more than one coat of Aqua Mix Gold, allow 30 minutes for drying time between coats. In 2 hours after the final coat, the surface will be ready for traffic. After the last coat, let the grout lines dry for 12 hours. The grout is penetrated by Aqua Mix Gold. For a long-lasting protective seal, I recommend applying two coats. I hope this has provided you with the information you require.
We used it on a lighter-colored grout and saw no darkening or wet appearance. We were very pleased with the product, and it has performed admirably thus far.
The product description and label clearly state that it is intended for use on porous stone and tile such as granite, travertine, marble, and other porous stones and tiles, as well as grout, which I did with great success.
I wouldn't do it. It only needs to be applied to the grout, which we did with a roller bottle.

On all of my tile installations, I use this product professionally. Some people believe tile and grout sealers are ineffective and not worth the effort; however, I strongly disagree. Yes, I'll have to return to the job on a different day once the grout has dried to seal it, but wouldn't you rather put in an extra hour the next day so that your craftsmanship looks as good a year from now as it does today? br>br>The product is fairly thin and applies well, providing coverage on most surfaces, but grout and porous tile will require multiple applications to achieve a truly water-proof finish. I usually do three to five applications. From start to finish, it takes between an hour and two hours to apply four coats. If applied correctly, the product should not alter the appearance of the tile once it has dried. My only criticism of the product is the price of the sealer, which appears to be a little excessive, but on the other hand, you get what you pay for. br>br>Overall, this is a long-lasting natural-looking sealer that is easy to apply and dries quickly, making it a win-win situation in my opinion.
I was extremely disappointed because, based on the other reviews I read before purchasing this product, I had high expectations. I used the Seal O Wheel applicator to apply the sealer. This applicator was effective, but the Aqua Mix dried with blotchy white spots all over our grout. We have brown grout, which has left white areas all over it, as you can see in the photo. To get rid of the haze, I used a vinegar wash and scrubbed all of the grout. I had to apply this to grout in two rooms, so it took a long time. Even though the vinegar wash didn't completely remove the haze, it significantly improved it. This product was extremely disappointing, and I will not purchase or use it again.
I was able to complete the entire grouting project with just one quart. only if you're in a mostly-single-parent household Two tiled showers are part of an 1800 square foot tiled home (excluding carpeted bedrooms). There was even some left over! br>br>I used a small long-handled paintbrush, and it does bead the water up once fully saturated and cured. (I needed two coats in some areas because I was skimpy). It gives me peace of mind to know that my investment is safe, especially in the kitchen! My grey grout's color has remained the same. br>On the tile, you can see a faint hint of where I accidentally "colored outside the lines" onto the ceramic tile (which was already sealed). It won't harm it, and I can't see it on the pattern, but the instructions say to be careful wiping it away (so much to do in such a short amount of time; I did my best, honestly; it was the only way it could be). br>br>This purchase has made me extremely happy. It's something I'd do again if the opportunity arose.
This more expensive sealer was purchased to protect the grout in my newly renovated bathroom. I've had the shower for about a month and have yet to notice any water sinking into the grout. The water should bead up as it should. br>br>When I renovated my kitchen a year ago, I bought a cheap sealer for my grout, and you get what you pay for. The grout sealer came in a small bottle with a bottle applicator that you brushed on, and it didn't work at all. The white grout began to turn brown after a few weeks. br>br>You will not be disappointed if you spend the extra money on this aqua mix sealer. The majority of the reviews mention a strong odor, and while this is true, proper ventilation should always be used when working with chemicals. This is an excellent item.
I can't say how long the sealer will last, but I bought the best I could find and applied two coats. It keeps the grout from getting wet. Although the bottle is small, it contains a significant amount of product. Avoid using the roller applicator to seal vertical tile, such as in a shower, because it will drip a lot and cause you more trouble than it's worth. I used a bottle type applicator with a rush tip, and it worked fine.
Because different textures and types of grout seal differently (some sections of grout will require one coat, while others will require two or three), I find that using a roller applicator like Vitrex Grout Sealer Applicator Bottle is the best method for applying Sealer's Choice Gold to floors, though the brand I bought was HDX (cheap) and worked great! To seal backsplash tile, I prefer to use a flat paint pad. br>br>The roller applicator will fill the floor's grout-filled gaps. A small river of sealant was used to create the line. If the seal hasn't fully absorbed after 10 minutes, reapply because that section isn't sealed. You'll notice that the sealant absorbs more slowly in some areas. Those sections have been sealed off. With a narrow brush or a finger, excess tile in grout lines can be easily moved to drier sections. You might think your grout won't seal because of its porosity, but it WILL, and when those water beads dance across your grout, you'll dance along with them! This product is also simple to clean, and once fully cured, it leaves no haze or discoloration with just a light buffing or mopping.
In a newly constructed office condo, I used this. All of the tile on the floors and the bathroom walls were treated. For a strong seal, I went over the grout twice. I used a sponge brush to apply it, and it was very simple. I wiped it clean with a towel and, when necessary, dropped water in various locations to test it, and it was repelled exactly as I had hoped. We'll see how long it lasts, but I expect it to be good. This is a product that I would recommend.
The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I want to see how well it seals over time; perhaps in six months, I'll give it five stars. I used a small paintbrush to apply three coats of paint to an old 3" ceramic tile countertop that measured 4' x 8'. It had been a long and difficult journey. However, sealing any type of grout takes time and effort. The fact that this product can also be used to seal tile is an added bonus. The "haze" that most sealers leave on tile is a pain to remove, but with this, it's relatively easy to remove and you don't have to be as "careful" about getting it on "sealed tile" (while also sealing any worn/unsealed tile). A little goes a long way, as well. I believe we will receive the service for which we paid.
