Questions & Answers

What is the maximum temperature that this heat resistant material can withstand?

When fully cured, SCC Epoxy can withstand temperatures of up to 475 degrees.

What is the maximum temperature that it can withstand?

SCC Epoxy can withstand temperatures as high as 475 degrees once fully cured.

How do you get your brushes and tools clean?

While the epoxy is still wet, we use acetone to clean it up. We let the epoxy dry in our mixing buckets by tipping them on their ends, and then peeling it out of the smooth plastic bucket when it's dry. The brushes can be cleaned in acetone after each use or can be used only once. If the epoxy is dry, use a heat gun or blow dryer to rehydrate it, then scrape it up with a scraper or flat head screwdriver if it spilled on the floor.

Which kit do I need for 20 square feet of white marble, and can it be used over existing formica?

For each coat (color coat and final flood coat), the general rule is 3 oz/sq ft of countertop epoxy. It can be applied over a formica countertop if the surface is properly prepared. I strongly advise you to watch their training videos on surface prep, rounding over countertop edges, and using tape "dams" on edges to control the initial flow of epoxy over the edges. Best wishes to you.

So I was working on updating my dingy 25-year-old website. year- Bathroom that has seen better days. I knew I couldn't afford to replace my vanity countertop right now, but I really wanted to improve the appearance of my bathroom. This epoxy brand is the best (we refinished our kitchen countertops a year ago and they are still in excellent condition). Thank you for your help, Stone Coat! )) We have these old built-in shell sinks in both of our bathrooms, which are difficult to work with due to their shape, so I spent some time figuring out how to finish them so they didn't look too fake. I settled on the concept of "undermount" sinks. Spray painted them bright white, used beautiful contact paper to create a granite effect, added a little of my imagination and talent, and the result was a nice looking countertop with smooth and shiny sinks. This took a lot of time and effort, but it was well worth it. You must use extreme caution when using a heat gun and contact paper (yes, it can be burned!). ) Two epoxy coats, a lot of sweating, and a lot of praying - and now it's our turn! Countertops and sinks that are magical, glass smooth, hard, and protected. They appear to be undermount, don't they? ) Yay! I'm in a fantastic mood! ) I would strongly suggest it!.

The level of customer service is appalling
3/5

I've attempted to contact you via phone and email. But it was in vain. I'm not going to buy anything else from Stone Coat. (It's a shame, because I've bought a lot in the last year. ) ) I own a resin art company, and this is the worst customer service I've ever encountered. There is no communication.

Be careful who you buy from
4/5

After hours of watching how-to videos, I've come to the conclusion that I mixed the epoxy after watching videos, writing down all of the steps, and double-checking that I did everything correctly. MY EPOXY BUBBLED AND HARDENED WITHIN 2 MINUTES OF APPLYING THE RUSTOLEUM SPRAY PAINT (IN THE KIT). I contacted the business and inquired as to what I was doing incorrectly. They informed me that the spray paint can react with the epoxy on occasion. I squandered an hour and a half of my life. As a result, I used a gallon of epoxy. When I asked if I could get a credit for a half-hour of work, they said yes. They said no to the gallon. br>Unfortunately, I had already invested in the product and needed to finish my countertop. I don't think I'll buy from them again - primarily due to a dearth of customer service.

Is it worth it to squeeze for the juice? I've tried a lot of different products and haven't noticed a difference in quality or results
3/5

br>In fact, the packaging is identical to that of all the other guys (except for the label), so I'm guessing you're getting the same product for twice the price.

Perhaps I was given a bad batch

We use epoxy to seal custom pieces we create as a small business owner, and we're not happy with this product. We are still getting lots of micro bubbles in the finished product after following the directions to the letter; I really wanted this to work because we use a lot of epoxy on a regular basis, but after a few ruined pieces, it is not worth it for us.

Exceptional Product!! After watching several videos from this company, my husband and I decided we could do it ourselves for a kitchen countertop
5/5

Now I'm really looking forward to finishing the rest of our kitchen countertops! Do your homework and follow all of the instructions, in my opinion. You will not be dissatisfied with this purchase.

I wouldn't use it in a private residence. Watched YouTube videos, dialed the help line, and followed the instructions to the letter. The product was always fish eyed.

This is a bad batch
3/5

When the epoxy is mixed in a 1: 1 ratio, it is ready to use. Before adding any pigment, the epoxy became white and opaque at a 1:1 ratio. I continued to mix for a few more minutes, expecting the epoxy to clear up, but it did not. I then added some pigment, hoping that the epoxy would absorb it and change color, but this did not happen. The pigment that I added remained a murky off color.
