The Taymac line of products is my favorite, I've got quite a few of their Dual-core boards are the first in the industry to do so This is my first purchase of gang enclosures. You are only required to spend a minute or two on it. I'll never need to make use of all of the number of different switch and receptacle combinations and orientations provided mainly because of the included faceplate options. Water treatment is necessary if you need it A cover for an outlet or switch that sees occasional use would be excellent. I would not use it for a regular plug, as the cover isn't deep enough to support all but the thinnest (and probably interior grade) power cords. Although I would like them a little thicker, the cover and hinges are fine as they are Is only abused if it is not used. Lastly, this product is made in North America, specifically in Even though this product isn't made in the USA, it is closer to home than most of those shipped from.
The price for this is For just 97 cents with free shipping when you join Amazon Prime, this Hubbell Taymac MM1410C Two Gang 55 in 1 Weatherproof Flat Cover, Clear is an excellent choice. This box is not as heavy as I would have liked for the amount of contents it comes with, for different outlets and switches arranged in different configurations. Overall, this is a good product for different uses. I would have given it a 5 star rating had the hinge been not so difficult to assemble, and if it had been a heavier, sturdier product. When I was pushing to get it together, it loudly snapped together, and I thought I had broken it. Though I don't love it, I give it a 4 out of 5.
To remove the cord, I had to make holes to allow it to pass. This design doesn't protect when an outlet is being used, so it's unlikely to do its job.
A review of the specification of this product says that its dimensions are 5 inches by 5 inches by 5 inches, which is exactly what I needed in an extra deep cover to facilitate Two of them arrived in my mailbox after I ordered them. My mailbox slot is approximately 5 inches wide, so how can an item that thick possibly fit in there? There were jiffy bags for each of them. Then, I looked this item up on HD's website and it was described as being only 5/8" A cover such as this is intended only to cover the receptacles it covers, so cords or other devices shouldn't be plugged in at all The cover is just a cover the cover is not in use. It doesn't deserve a full five stars because I wasted my time on an incorrect description and ordered it based on it. You should clearly describe the product as it is, so prospective customers will not be misled. Hubbell products in general are fine, as I have found in my experience. Getting ready to go pick up The truth is, I wrote this post while I was angry. That's a lot!.
A clear, smooth face is just what I'm looking for. A texture is evident on the ones from big box stores. The cover has a timer so I have the option of visually verifying all the settings, just by looking at it.
A cord was plugged into the box, which was not weather proof. After returning it, I was given its deeper sibling, which was perfectly.
An in-depth look is shown in the picture The style cover should be used. Each time I ordered the item, the description and the picture were different from what I received.
I used them for a boat dock at our marina in Florida because of the weather.
