My children are useless, but this does what it's supposed to
5/5

I chipped away at the tile with a chisel and hammer when I was removing the tiles from my living room/kitchen area. In spite of the fact that it took a long time to pop the tile, it was effective. In any case, the mortar under my foot hadn't been able to hold it and I had no hope of making any headway with it in the way I was attempting it. It felt like I was scraping metal on cement, but the sound was horrible. I tried a metal floor scraper thing that looked like a miniature snow shovel that I found at Home Depot, but it was useless. Then I went to Harbor Freight and found a scraper which hooks up to an air compressor but it doesn't even work. The fact that this happened didn't surprise me at all. In the end, I bought a portable air conditioner Here is a 3" chisel bit that I found on Amazon to use with my hammer. A lot of this type of bit can be found on Amazon, but there are not many options. I had the choice of this or a 4 inch one, but I'm cheap, so I didn't want to spend an extra $10 on a I needed it to do exactly what I needed it to do A small piece of thinset/mortar chipped off while no cement floor underneath was damaged. I won't get it wrong it was still time-consuming and incredibly dusty, but it was like going at "ludicrous speed" when compared to what it would have been if I chipped it off the conventional way. In the dining room, once I had stripped the thinset, I began to work on the remaining tiles. With this piece I was able to accomplish the majority of the floor so much faster than when I was doing it the old way. As obvious as it can be, you need to wear eye protection when you are working. Using this device, I would constantly be hit with chunks of debris in the face. Even better, I'd suggest using the store's website A good pair of goggles for a teacher would be superior to cheap safety spectacles As I walked, chunks of stuff would blow up under my glasses because I was wearing cheap ones. In addition, I didn't hang up plastic to keep dust from falling on the area where I was working - I did make the mistake of not doing so. There was no gap in coverage! Once everything had been wiped down, it was re-installed As all the crap in the air finally settled, we covered the next day. Therefore, if you plan to use this to deal with ceramic tile, hang some plastic "drop cloths".

I must say that it is an invaluable tool for people who need this information. I even obliterated a lot of thinset, but the edge was still decent. A thin layer of dullness had developed on the metal, as was to be expected, but there were no large chips or gouges. You can keep this thing for a very long time if you take care of it.

I found it to be very useful
5/5

There were two spots in my house where I removed tiles that were about 6' x 6' each. I did not realize how difficult it would be to remove the thin set from the concrete slab because it was my first time. By the end of the 20 minutes with a hammer and chisel, I had removed nearly My father and I spent some time last night watching YouTube university videos. One was a video of a guy using an air hammer and chisel attachment for a makeshift installation. During my search for products on Amazon, I came across I am so glad I made the decision. In comparison to a 5 gallon tank), you can purchase an air hammer much more cheaply for thin set removal.

Quite a challenge
5/5

We were able to do this job so much more easily. A 3/4 in. point was what I was using. Before removing tiles from a cement floor, I had been removing them from a bit of wood. My 6-foot by 15-foot tile area was cleared of tile in about 3 hours using this machine. I was also running 3 compressors at the same time. I had no issues with the bit holding up well, having no nicks or dents. It is an expensive service, but it pays off with how fast it is completed. If you plan on using water on the job site, I recommend spraying the tile and grout down with water as you go through. You don't need to worry about dust as much. It was too late for me to learn that.

It's a great tool, it's easy to use, and it's great with an air hammer, so buy two and you'll be happy
4/5

This is the first one that did not break after about 2 hours of solid use, you could tell that the metal was incompletely forge, but some of them do break. I suggest that you purchase this chisel if you plan on using it with a pneumatic hammer to remove thinset, as it works so well even my 13-year-old can use it! This tool is just the best for removing thinset from a fairly small area, I used mine to remove it from some steps in the front entry. The 42" long-sleeved shirt also came from my purchase As opposed to a handle air chisel used to remove tile and thinset, the 3" air hammer was more efficient, took less energy and left a cleaner surface behind. This is a highly recommended book! I gave it one star because the chisel broke after just a short time of usage, should have bought two or three.

I am very pleased with the My local Home Depot was full of crap for rentals that I always had to deal with, but I bought this and used it with my air hammer for a tile job and I managed it in no time on my own, Instead of using the machines I rented, I used this

I find it to be perfect for my needs
5/5

The purpose of this is to remove ancient adhesive used to hold up drop ceiling panels, so I'm left wondering as to why they didn't simply paint the nice quality plywood underneath. I use this tool in my air hammer, a heat gun, and follow up with a random orbital to eliminate one of the worst tasks in my life. In my opinion, I would not want to use this for anything large like removing tiles. Invest in or borrow a pneumatic floor scraper to save your back. It is both in my possession. This is a great tool for removing small areas of flooring where you don't want the 50lb scraper, but this isn't the tool for removing a whole kitchen's worth of flooring at once.

It is a useful It turned out that the tile was applied over two sheets of roll linoleum instead of one sheet when I used this tool to remove 18 x 18 inch tile
4/5

I remember when that crappy floor covering was widely used back in those days. The linoleum is a blessing, and the tool is a great one. But let me say this I was surprised at how well it worked. The only thing this thing is missing is a collar, so put on a pair of thick gloves before you handle this. There is a brand that sells them with yellow collars, but they aren't as good as this one.

Thinset can be easily removed with this product
5/5

Thinset can be easily removed with this product. In order to remove some stubborn 13x13" tiles which wouldn't come off with a smaller bit, I broke the thinset removal tool trying to break them. Fortunately, most of the tiles came off without breaking the I bought another one after using the first one on thinset so well. As badly as I knew I shouldn't have done it on tile, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it. A bit of advice for anyone racing against deadlines. A tile can only resist extreme pressure for a short period of time before breaking, such as when removing tile. When dealing with thinset, this tool works very well, when dealing with other things it may not work at all.
