It was about that big and I covered every wall with two paint coats, one of which was thick with three coats and I even used the entire tub for that! Ensure that all joints are covered with four coats. The amount was quite accurate, but I wasn't coating a shower floor or anything like that. I was just putting a thin layer between a tile floor heat mat and the bathroom's tile. It looked to be completely waterproof once I was done, if I had to guess. The floor heating system would have zapped me when I got out of the shower, so I figured it was just a bit cheap insurance. That's how I roll, even if it may seem overkill.
It is recommended that you use USG durock, as well as a Liquid Applied Waterproofing by Durock Brand instead of
that it did not stick to the backer board as well as it did to regular cement board. I think this is because the backer board drained the water quickly. Upon further thought, it might be better to dilute the first coat so that it would be more like a primer base and then top it off with a regular paint coat. I suggest you call the company and ask them what their recommendations are.
While I'm not certain, it may damage your judo arm. The only way to know is to remove the mastic. Good luck!

It was easy to apply the Laticrete. When I sent Laticrete an email, I received fast and professional customer service. One quirk with the product is An uncovered poster is only allowed to remain on the wall for 30 days. In order for the tiles to be installed, they must be installed within 30 days or they will oxidize and no longer be functional. That is something I did not know. As I was helping my daughter move 1200 miles away and would be gone for 3 weeks, I had to cover it with a thin coat of thiset to prevent it from oxidizing.
The basement of my house is being renovated with a 3x4x8 shower. In my case, I used Laticrete pre-cast They also provide tileable shower pans and curbs (which are constructed from a dense foam) along with a wall insert. I really like this stuff because it goes on smoothly. Paint pans can be inserted simply. If you're painting the corners, use a brush. If you're painting the rest, use a roller. It goes on thickly like It's ready to serve without stirring at all! I love how easy it is The water I used in my shower was a little over 1 gallon. A couple of decently thick coats is required. There was no need for me to paint the floor, curb, or wall insert since they came already painted I did coat the floor after this, but I still made sure any nicks along the way were corrected. On the first coat, there are still some spots that are visible through. After I applied the 2nd coat (which I did two hours later), the setup was really uniform. The cost and ease of use are reasons enough to make me believe it's better than some of the competing products. The method works, so use it and then you're.
It is great to have fluid applied waterproofing since you can build a seamless layer of material that will prevent water from penetrating. The Hydroban is a marvelous, workable material that can be used to envelop walls, floors, showers, and tub decks seamlessly. Brushes and rollers can easily be used to apply it to tile board and mortar surfaces despite its heavy weight and thickness. If you apply the product correctly, you will never experience a leak. Then and now.
Honestly, I have never seen anything like this before. For waterproofing my tub surround up to the ceiling, I used 2 gallons of liquid rubber. A tile and a brick It was leaking when I tore out the mud wall, so I repaired it as soon as possible to make it bullet-proof. A surface membrane such as Hydro Ban prevents any water from getting behind the tile before it can get into the cement board. This is a valuable feature on a heavily-trafficked street. A frequently used shower that doesn't have a lot of time to dry The shower drain is made of PVC, which resists the musty smell that can occur from always keeping the shower The fact that it bonds to the flanges of the plumbing and the tub is particularly appealing to me. There is a continuous waterproof barrier along all the walls and on the tub deck - the stub out for the tub spout was fairly easy to waterproof. To achieve the best results, you need to maintain the reinforcing fabric at the corners, between the cement board and tub, and between them all. Laticrete says Hydro Ban can span gaps up to 1/8 inch, but that's less than an inch. This is good insurance against a future leak and really makes the waterproofing job stronger.
I cannot say why it is better than red guard, but I can mention that while it appears to dry fast, I waited almost four hours before doing the leak test (documentation says two hours) and the material bubbled a little bit. Set tile on a dry surface for a few days, due to the tacky nature of the tile, even though it may seem dry and tack free to your hands. Allow this to happen for much longer than the directions recommend.
We installed this at our house for the shower pan, and it seems to work wonderfully as a waterproofer. As a result, my husband climbed on to the roof to paint this on the shingles around our skylight and because the color did not match the shingles, he spray painted it with black spray paint and up till now we have not had a leak from our skylights. It is a great product that I would highly recommend!.
I'm very pleased with this product. In fact, I even used it to line some shower niches.
As far as my expectations were concerned, this product penetrated over the pores of the durock effectively, and I felt sure that I had a complete In fact, I made some flaps to cover the cement board, painted them with HydroBan, and attached them to the tub so that water would roll down the flange. I highly recommend it. Worked great, and I would recommend it to others. It seems to me that this is better than RedGuard, though I haven't used it.
I was blown away. With two heavy coats, each gal can cover 50 sq feet. A paintbrush is the best way to apply it, any roller will not be able to stick to it. It was only 2 buckets that I needed out of 3 I got. It's not cheap, so they are taking one back with a 20% restock fee which is fair since they are pretty expensive. As I was saying, this creates a great seal for the shower walls without the need to employ underlay pads, corner pads, In order for Hydro Ban to be effective, it must be applied over the cement board edges and cracked areas. Seal any cracks and edges with quality clear cocking and smooth it properly with a putty knife. Let dry overnight. Hydro Ban has to be applied in two thick coats in order to let the shower totally seal.
