Questions & Answers

The e900 kit was used to install a new 8x8 garage door. Is this spring the right time for it?

Our E900 Kit works with doors ranging in height from 6'10" to 7'4" tall, as well as 6' - 8' wide. It's 16' wide and can hold up to 350 pounds. As a result, your door is a couple of inches too short.

Is it possible to use this spring in place of my SL 728 c springs?

Yes, absolutely! Part is a direct replacement.

Is there a connector hook on both ends of this spring? My old spring, which has the same number, still works. ?

On both ends, there are connection hooks.

Is there one or two springs included with this item?

One spring is included in the price. To achieve equal tension on both sides of the door, we recommend replacing all springs at the same time.

We have an old one-piece wooden garage door from 1987. One of the side springs broke, and despite the fact that this was not the original "model number," it was the exact same spring (new model number for a Stanly side mount hinge) and took only 10 minutes to replace. I called all of the garage door "specialists" in my town before finding this source, and they all said the same thing: "These old springs are no longer available; you will have to replace the door, which will cost around $1400 to $1600 dollars. " They all said things like "these old springs are dangerous," "their insurance companies wouldn't even insure them to do such a job," and so on. Every single one of them is a liar who is only interested in selling me a new door. We were able to fix this small problem for less than $100, including shipping (which was more than the spring), and it was so simple that my husband, who has no experience as a handyman, was able to install it himself. br>br>Spring arrived in less than a week, and I owe it all to Holmes- Enough with the Industires!.

I couldn't find it locally, but it works perfectly

I had a secondary door in the back of the garage that was from the 1970s, and it worked perfectly. This type of spring is no longer available at Home Depot, at least not in my area. It only took a few minutes to change, but I had to hold on to get the hook engaged because it was a little shorter than my previous spring.

What kind of person visits? No, you're not going to get away with it

These, along with the electric opener, hold the front line in keeping the contents of my garage safe while still being accessible when needed. The best springs in the industry are made by Holmes. Don't be fooled by lower-cost, lower-quality items that are more likely to shatter and cause eye damage when you least expect it!.
