Questions & Answers

7' x 16' is the size of my front door. The old springs are 2"x20," but I'm not sure if the 207 measurement is correct. Will this set be able to open and close my door?

I bought the 207x2x20 because I have the same door size as you. I installed it, and it opens and closes the garage door smoothly.

Is the yellow spray paint still visible on these?

The number 207 is indicated by the color yellow. br>Even if it doesn't, the number 207 will be displayed. br>So you're in good shape.

My old torsion springs have a measurement of 200 x 19 on them. I'm having trouble finding that size; will the 207 x 20 suffice?

Torsion is, indeed, the key.

How long is the unwound spring? "pair of 207 x 2" x 20"" says the product name, but the specifications say it's 29" long?

I'm not the seller, but I'm guessing the dimensions are for the longest option in the post's drop-down menu, or it's just a typo in the ad.

Before attempting this, do your homework
5/5

Oh, you heard a loud POP and now your garage door refuses to open? You did some research and discovered that the big box stores don't have any of these items on their shelves, and that getting them on Amazon is faster and cheaper? You also received a quote from a local repairman, but you don't want to pay $300? This item is for you if you're lucky - IF - You have done your homework well. The first thing you should do is watch a few videos that explain everything you need to know. Winding springs and cable pulleys can be extremely dangerous, so if you don't think you'll be able to do what's shown in the video, the $300 might be worth it. If you watch the video and believe you can do what you see (which I strongly advise), then go ahead and do it. I ended up purchasing these and replacing them myself, with little to no negative consequences. While the videos focus on winding the springs, I also recommend ensuring that the cable pulleys are taught, tightly wound, and out of the way of any obstacles. Because you're effectively moving them, they'll be in positions that aren't the same as when you started. It took about 30 minutes to complete the process, and it worked perfectly. Good luck!.

Check everything! First and foremost, my garage springs have broken for the first time
3/5

This seller's 5 star rating influenced my decision to purchase these springs. Unfortunately, I was pleased with the speed of delivery. I received parts that were not in the right order! I didn't open it until the day of installation, when my installer informed me that I needed a black painted spring on the right and a red painted spring on the left! As a result of my ignorance, the installer did not complete the installation and instead charged me for his time: What a waste of time!.

Great

Check both springs to make sure they are in good working order. It's hard to beat the price, but make sure both springs are identical. Mine had one this size and one that was longer for some reason (longer life, I assume). They must be the same, I reasoned. It makes no difference; they work fine. Make sure you replace them correctly by watching YouTube videos. The DDM Garage Door Repair video on YouTube is comprehensive and takes safety into account.

Poor packaging resulted in a broken nylon bearing
3/5

3 stars because of the poor packing, or more accurately, the lack of packing material. The nylon bearing was broken because the springs in the box were loose. I started the swap, but I ended up using the old bearing from the springs I replaced. A new one would have been preferable. /br>br>The springs themselves are as described and appear to be well constructed; however, we'll have to wait and see how long they last.

Nope

In July 2017, I bought two springs, one of which failed in December 2018. Only the coil's diameter holds it to the hub. The coil is connected to the hub by a notch in the hub or a tab on a good spring. As if it were a weed wacker's spool. It is the labor that causes the burn, not the cost of the springs. It's not easy to replace these springs. Our company, Garage Door 365, is no longer in operation. Consider whether you'd like to do it all over again in a year and a half.

It is possible, but it may not be as simple as it appears
5/5

This is the first time I have done this type of work in my life. Like almost everything else, you see someone else do it and it appears to be simple, straightforward, and does not necessitate the use of special equipment. Yes, it is possible! br> It might not go as planned, and it might put your skills to the test. Before you begin, watch at least a few videos; they will provide you with useful tips and solutions to problems you may face.

Great product, and even better seller! When one of my torsion springs broke, I discovered that it was not something that could be purchased at a big box store
5/5

I placed my order late on Sunday and paid for express shipping. On Wednesday, they showed up. My garage door was still working but putting extra strain on the motor, so I was pleased with how quickly they arrived. I got started after watching a YouTube video on how to do it. It only took an hour, which was fantastic. Finding the right wrench in my hornet's nest of tools took the most time. Overall, these springs make me very happy! The set came with everything you'll need to get started. The quality of the winding bars and springs is excellent. It's also remarkable how quiet the garage door is when it opens and closes.

I ordered a pair of 207x2x20, which is usually standard for a 16'x7' double-decker, but I received a pair of 207x2x20, which is normally standard for a 16'x7' double-decker, but I received prompt customer service
5/5

(approximately 181 lbs) sided steel with insulation door The 207x2x21 spring (right side) was the only one I received. I contacted the seller, who promptly replied and sent me the other one (207x2x20, left side). I informed them that the springs were 1in off, but they responded with detailed information from their spring department team, stating that it would not affect balance and that it was within specifications. I double-checked the information with a local expert. The balance was as-is after I installed the new springs. expected! Always use caution and adhere to safety precautions. Call a professional if you have any doubts.
