Good product, simple to install after watching a few YouTube videos. Simply remember to lubricate the springs once the installation is complete. Otherwise, due to high friction, the door may not close properly, and the noise while turning will be reduced. Others were advised by me.
To get the tension right on a 7' garage door, it took 30 1/4 turns. I double-checked the manufacturer's sizing guidelines before proceeding with the installation. A double car insulated 7 foot garage door benefits from new torsion springs.
It's a close call. The winding bars are a little short.
After one of my springs broke, I ordered these to try it out for myself. I contacted a local garage door company, which quoted me $325 for installation. These took about 4 hours to install and have been running smoothly for the past 4 weeks.
These springs were exactly what they said they were going to be. They were a perfect fit, and I was able to install them myself after watching a few YouTube videos. Now the garage is in excellent working order.
I'm not a big fan of messing with springs, but this wasn't too bad. I've had mine for a while and it's been working perfectly.
The item was delivered on time and in good condition. br>After watching on-line video instructions, the springs were relatively simple to install; however, the dangers of spring back and balance should be better explained. If you are able, I would recommend hiring a professional to finish the installation because tension is crucial.
These aren't available in any of the local hardware stores. It was simple to set up and it worked perfectly.
