Assume you already own a pair. 207" x 1- You should get 10,000 open and close cycles on the if you use 3/4" x 24" springs that are appropriate for your door. There are 207 springs in total. If you want to increase the springs' open and close cycles to 20,000, you'll need. 218 x 2" x 28" springs that can be used as a direct replacement. For those springs, go to Amazon and type in "B07253WV3B."
The weight of your garage door will determine how long it takes to open and close. If you can't find number 22, you can use number 26; just don't give it the rotations when the spring is taut.
Our resorts are aceite-templated, and we recommend staying within 1" of the original length to ensure that the resorts of 26" will continue to be compatible.
Please measure 20 coils of your existing spring and if it's 4-inch in diameter, you'll need to replace it. If you're talking about 3/8", then the answer is yes. For your replacement, a wire gauge of 218 is appropriate. You can find a measurement guide for determining which wire gauge you have on your door by looking at the fourth image on this Amazon listing. We always recommend that you match the existing spring measurements and replace them with springs that are the same.
Selected User Reviews For DURA-LIFT .218 x 2" x 26" Torsion Garage Springs (White, Left & Right Wound)
After reading reviews, I decided that the 207 x 2 springs would be the best option. It would be possible to use 218 springs. I had no idea what garage doors were and had no documentation for mine, which is a 10 wide by 9 high insulated door that is quite heavy. The longer, undamaged spring was wound nine times. After winding these new springs to 7 1/2 turns, I became terrified. The door rolled up 3/4 of the way and stayed there manually at that point because it was well balanced. Isn't everything fine? So I rolled up the door after hooking up the lift. It was an excellent solution. After that, I pressed the down key - bam - Everything came to a halt. The cables had gotten tangled up after coming off the spools. Yikes. You should be able to tension your springs at least one turn for every foot of door height, it appears. br>br>Even though the thicker springs were balanced correctly at 7 1/2 turns, they should have been tensioned at 9 turns. The problem is that the door would not be balanced at 9 turns and fly up, so these springs will not work for me, and I will have to order new ones. I'm going to try again with the 207 x 2 x 28 springs. br>br>At this point, I'm wondering why I didn't hire a pro to do it, but I live 75 miles out in the boonies, and the experience has taught me a lot. I believe it would be impolite to return these springs because they only failed due to my inexperience. Is there any way to put garage door springs to good use?.
If you're handy with tools, you can save $150 by watching the installation on YouTube. Thank you for the great price and the tensioning bars that came with the product.
By measuring the thickness of the wiring (with a caliper) and the length of the spring, OEM replacement springs were found to be identical to the originals.
Dura- The lift springs were simple to install and came with everything I needed to complete the task.
I only gave 4 stars for comfort because you will feel the pressure as you approach 31 quarter turns on the torsion spring, but don't worry, the job is almost done.
