I don't see why they wouldn't work if the measurements are accurate. They were used to wind a torsion spring on a 300 lb. Doors. There is about 125 to 140 pounds of force applied to the rod embedded 1/2 inch into the spring head, with no bending.

These are the ones. NOT the 47-inch-diameter-circle-circle-circle-circ The diameter is 5 inches. They are dangerous because they are a very loose fit in a spring cone. br>Recent changes: The seller has updated the product description to reflect the true width of the item, but all explanatory information still refers to the incorrect 1/2 inch measurement, which is inconsistent with the true width. The width is 47 inches. br>I increased my rating from one to three stars to reflect the seller's effort and customer service; however, the rods are still insufficient for my needs of a true 1/2 inch width.
These were successful in completing the task. They appeared to be a little too loose in the slot. And, as a novice, I was probably overly-confident. The fit is a concern. I did go to the trouble of marking the rods with tape so that it was clear where they needed to be fully seated. With everything in place, I was able to complete the repair quickly and safely. I'd suggest it.
These arrived yesterday, and I haven't had a chance to try them yet, but I wanted to share my initial thoughts. They arrived rusted, despite the fact that the ones in the Amazon photos appear to be chromed. Is this a problem for anyone else? Look at the image. They're also not. They are 12MM for 5 inch, as stated.
I was able to repair my garage door spring and re-install it for less than $20 with these. adjust the cable pulleys without having to pay someone else likely over $200 to do it for you! I highly recommend the product, but proper research should be conducted prior to performing a garage spring or pulley repair, as doing so without doing so can be dangerous!.
I completed the task at hand. If I tightened springs on a regular basis, I'd prefer a pair with a slightly larger diameter. These were a little loose, but I managed to avoid slipping by keeping a good amount of pressure inward.
I decided to give my 16-year-old garage door a tune-up. To balance the door, clean and lubricate all parts, then replace the rollers and cables, as well as retension the main spring. The garage door opener appeared to be attempting to open the door with great difficulty. These bars worked perfectly and helped me save hundreds of dollars.
They are too small and fit very loosely. I am considering returning them. Buyer beware: if you use these, you should be very careful because they can easily slip out because they aren't large enough around the edges.
This is a simple tool. Place it in the spring head's slot and turn it. It has nothing to do with it. I'm going to keep them in case I have to do it again. It's less expensive than hiring a door repairman for a few hundred dollars. (I have nothing against people who make a living repairing garage doors. ).
