Questions & Answers

Is that the cost of two bars or just one?

Hector: There are two bars included in the price. Last night, I finally got a chance to use them to adjust the springs in my garage, and they worked perfectly.

What is the bar's diameter?

They're a standard garage door size, according to my husband. It has an octagonal shape and is perfectly suited to the task at hand. He had previously used rebar, but it slips, so he needed the actual tool. He did look up how-to videos on the internet and found some useful information.

How would I get around the fact that 18" is too long for a single rod? The spring is only 10" from the ceiling on the bar it is resting on. 12th, 3rd, 6th, and 9th holes are the four. ?

It will work perfectly for you. You can cut it if you really have to, but it's not a good idea. br>If you're doing 1/4 turns, it'll work.

These are hexagonal winding bars, according to the description. Do you agree? To me, they appear to be circular. ?

They are round rather than hexagonal.

I was able to save a significant amount of money as a result of this
5/5

I had a smaller garage door with the cable off the wheel on one side, and I decided not to call a professional repair person for this task because of the COVID issue, as well as the cost. As a result, these rods for adjustment were purchased. In about half an hour, the cable on the wheel was fixed, and the door was adjusted. Since the home's construction in 1994, the door has never been easier to open or close. After checking the spring tension on the other large, double-sprung garage door, I made an adjustment on one side that was off, compared to the other. I was initially unsure if I would be strong enough after major spine surgeries to accomplish this, but these tools made everything very easy and fast. That door is now also very easy to open and close. I estimate I've saved around $200, not to mention the fact that no one has been affected by the Pandemic. These adjustment bars are something I would buy again.

Before you adjust anything, go to YouTube and watch a video
5/5

I watched a few YouTube videos before ordering the winding bars, which saved me $100. 00 on my own, I was able to repair my front door. The garage repair shop requested $75 in exchange for the work. Just to show up, it'll cost you a hundred dollars. Don't try this with a screwdriver; instead, invest in the proper equipment. After watching the video, it becomes incredibly simple. Just keep in mind that if you don't know how to use these correctly, you could get seriously hurt. Do yourself a favor and see it done if you only think you can do it after seeing it done. Before you decide to rip your eyes out of their sockets by doing this incorrectly, take a look at your children and wife. It's possible that you'll never see them again.

It's pointless to have a rounded end
3/5

I chose these because one end has a rounded end, making it easier to stick in the winding hole, but it is smaller than the other end, which works. I would have bought the less expensive ones if I'd known. They did, however, complete the task. I gave it three stars because the round ends appear to serve no purpose, and there were no size specifications or explanations as to why they have rounded ends or what purpose they are supposed to serve.

For any homeowner, this is a must-have item
5/5

I discovered the springs were weak when I replaced my garage door opener. I contacted a garage door specialist, who quoted me $125 to tighten the springs and lubricate the track on one of the doors. I observed everything he did and concluded that I am capable of doing the same. Springs only need to be replaced if they are broken, so I can do the same thing for the low cost of these rods because I have a three-car garage with three separate doors.

One bar was all that was received
3/5

It would have been a simple project if I hadn't only gotten one bar instead of two. I couldn't wait to use my garage door any longer, so I rigged it up with other tools, but this was a letdown and made the job more difficult and dangerous.

It performs admirably
5/5

They did exactly what they said they would. On one end, they're reduced in diameter, but this wasn't necessary for my garage doors. The only thing I'd change is to coat them in a rubberized coating to protect them from corrosion over time.

I recently installed a new garage door opener and needed to rebalance my garage door, so this product was perfect
5/5

The torsion bars did exactly what they said they would do. I was able to completely tighten both springs, and my garage door is now perfectly balanced. This also saved me money, because the cheapest estimate I could find for garage door techs was $100 just to tighten the springs.

Simply use these to replace your springs
5/5

Just buy these so you can fix your door yourself. br>It's not worth paying someone to do it because it's so simple. br>Just take it slow and make sure the springs are locked to the spindle bar before you walk away. br>These fit perfectly and are far superior to trying to use conduit or pipe.
