In my opinion, they are there on both stoppers to maintain the tube and prevent water from entering. Though I am not sure exactly how good this is, it took me a long time to install the rubber in the tracks. The metal strips were well over 10 feet and I had to hacksaw them in order to make them Trying to see how well it works in the rain.
In order for the seal to be attached, the bottom of the door needs to be rigid

My work took about 5 hours since I removed the old vinyl strip and it looked the same as the track I received. In order to hold the vinyl in place, the door manufacturer crimped the end of the track. The groove in the sleeve was filed open and straightened. A new track was laid after cleaning the old one. A total of only 6 inches were available on each side to feed vinyl through. No matter how hard we tried, it wouldn't fit. The new track was screwed over the old one and it worked just fine. Trying to feed in the vinyl was a nightmare because it was so tightly bound up in the small space. You would be able to walk out of the track by putting your foot there. It took me a few hundred times to do that. 'Never got past half of the door (15 feet) before it wouldn't push further. Half of the piece should be fed through and the other part should be cut in half. It is meant to go before the lower panel I attached to the rest of the panels, so nothing is wrong with it. I wish you the best of luck with your installation. Please note It was 97 degrees with a heat index of 90 degrees, and my wife was about to give It is a pleasure to know her, and she is a trooper.
Ten days after purchase, this item began to tear.
This was a simple install, the track was easy to cut, but the seals on the bottom won't stay in place and wobble in one direction or another. An easily accessible mouse can gain access to the edges because they are not sealed. Despite being old and flat, my floor and door are in good condition. To prevent leaks, the rubber I cut away had to be used to create a seal. With no plugs on my door, it works better. The results were the same for both doors.
A terrible set of screws. It has cracked in the middle and is pushed up in the middle, causing the garage door to be gaping It leaves a space for snow to accumulate, grass clippings to wind into my garage, etc. I love how thick this seal is and how well it seals up the gaps. This seal is made of aluminum extrusions that keep it very solid. The seal itself is considered to be very heavy, and it can last for many It is the best product I have ever bought. I am very happy with it.
INSTALLATION Almost all of the aluminum extrusions were 3 feet long, so the last one had to be cut down to match the door's length. This isn't an issue for me, but it's good to note that aluminum will likely need to be cut if you want to use this product. Including the screws in the kit is a waste of money. The screw was removed, I threw it in the garbage, and I removed the other two screws as well. Invest in some self-tapping screws and you will be able to install your drywall much more easily. The most difficult part of the process was pushing the seal into the aluminum extrusion. I was careful to align the aluminum ends perfectly, and I would not have had any problem When I got past the halfway point it became more difficult to install the seal alone as I had already pushed it beyond its halfway point. In the end, I would walk to the other side of the seal, pull it tight, then walk back and push the other side, repeating the process by two inches. The process could be sped up significantly by having someone help pull while you push. The entire installation only takes a little over an hour, even if done alone. In general, it is not difficult to.
The good part was that it was easy to install. In spite of that, the only bad part is that when it rained, water got under the door. For over 10 years, the old bottom had been on the door, so I decided that it was time to replace it. I purchased this combination because I had an unusual track on my door and could not find the rubber that would fit it. It still leaks through the underside of I noticed water dripping out of the rubber seal in my garage door when I ran the garage door up. Maybe it's a low spot in my floor. There was almost a foot of water in it. Once I removed it, I discovered that it had been wet for months due to cracks in the rubber. Since our last rain, there was still water inside the seal after weeks of dry weather. Although I am still not sure where the water is coming from, cracked rubber after 9 months is definitely an unfortunate development. However, I will buy another rubber seal instead of leaving the aluminum track in place. This is not something we recommend.
It's been up for about two weeks now and is running fine. Two things I learned from it It is really imperative that two people carry out the assembly of a wide garage door, like one for two cars. With one, the rubber is fed into the tracks, and with the other, the leading edge is gently pulled. After that, it goes on fairly easily, maybe a foot at a time. Silicone spray on the tracks makes it easy for the rubber to slide along, but keep an eye out because perpendicular to the grooves, the rubber grips can be ripped out. I still consider it worth the money in my opinion, and it seems to stay mounted when fully The second module focuses on By installing the bass forwards, you can make it sound better. This is achieved by having a round tube on the outside, not on the inside of the main rubber outer layer. I am a dummy and got most of the way across the garage door before realizing it. I hate it. Be smart, and don't make the same mistake twice.
Probably operator error since I wasn't impressed with this product. First, no need to buy the mounting bracket as I did not need it. Second, it provides better seal than most products but I have some difficulty correcting the alignment of the door (ie up/down). As a final note, no matter what type of seal is used, the door must have one piece across the bottom of it. If this is not done, a gap can develop, allowing moisture and insects to enter. In all likelihood, I would purchase it again. Unfortunately, there is only one of.
This item was just installed this My steel garage door is 8' tall, so I purchased the 10' version. You are required to line up the three panels that came with the retainer, which don't interlock. Depending on the width of the door panels, you may need long clamps that can extend out beyond the panels. In my case, the door panels were 21", so I used The panels were screwed into the door by drilling and taking screws from the bottom of the panels. To make the third panel 14 inches wide, it had to be trimmed. I used my miter saw to cut them. Since they are aluminum, it wasn't hard. Because there wasn't much space on either side of the door in my garage, we used the following method to install the seals
You will need a few seconds to slot the seal into the retainer with the help of a second person. There is a tendency for it to come out of the track if it doesn't go in straight, so you should give yourself space. A total of 82" of my 96" garage door was covered with panels. The panels on the right side of the door were flush with the front of the door, leaving 14" between them on the left as no panel was present. A 14" extension was added to the door on the right after the seal is fed in from left to I then installed the 14" panel on the left side and re-enforced the back of the panel. Seals are fed by the left to the right. The seal has been cut to fit. This took 25 minutes to complete. Those needed for this project are the following For trimming the panels if necessary, a saw to trim the panels if necessary, and four clamps at least 24 inches long.
