Questions & Answers

What is the best method of calculating the T-score What are the dimensions of each long channel, the distance between the center of each channel, or the length of the entire channel?

There is a distance of one center to the other center of both Most commonly used doors are compatible with the strip. It takes 2 people to spray soapy water on the installation.

There are sliding barn doors in my house. Would it be possible to attach a horizontal strip to each end of the doors to allow them to seal well together ?

In order to slide this weather seal into the aluminum door bottom piece, you will need to have it available.

Can you confirm that this product is 10' long, since I seen a few reviews that indicated it was 2" ?

Mine was 10' long when I measured it. In fact, it was about 10'1" tall. In most cases, the length should be 10', however, if the machinery that is cutting the length isn't operating correctly, it may be a little longer or a little shorter.

The size I needed was 1/4" T, but I bought this in the wrong size. Could you please share it with me?

The one I bought at Amazon is 1/4" T after I looked at all their options.

Spending money on something that isn't worthwhile
3/5

After 3 months, the product is split. I found an old weather strip that was over 20 years old that had lost its shape, but was not torn or cracked. I replaced the new weather strip less than 3 months after it was installed. As a result of the melting, the material stuck to my driveway and did permanent damage to It doesn't get hotter than 80 degrees in coastal Southern California where I live. The seller refunded me several times after I contacted him several times. The only reply I received indicated they sent a replacement which I have yet to receive, and I contacted them to let them know, but have not heard back from them. There is a 12 month warranty offered by the manufacturer, but the seller will not honor it. I should give my money back if the seller does not respond or refund my money, and Amazon should contact the seller on my behalf since they fulfilled the order.

If your door has a track where the seal slides, be sure the track is the right size
4/5

Although I find this to be an excellent product, I had a slightly different experience from My first thing is to let you know – I finally got it installed, with help, and it seems to work well to keep water out of the garage - I'm very pleased with the results - A long-time need has finally come to fruition. However, I did not find the installation to be as easy as it had been described. In the bottom of the door, the "T" that slides into the tracks was too narrow to allow the rubber seal to slide into it. After trimming one side and basically making it an "L", the design turned out to be essentially symmetrical. I had no choice but to do so to install it. My contact with the seller was nonexistent In any case, I had already cut the product to length, so I have no idea what they would have said to me. That point in time, it was too late to return it. I'm unsure if it matters, but my doors are about The end will be good in the end, though. I have now installed the product under my two exterior doors, and I can see no light coming from anywhere on the 9' of I am pleased, which is why I gave it a 4 star rating. It is important that you are aware of this potential problem.

I cannot think of anything that I don't like about this product
5/5

About 30 minutes were needed for my wife and me to complete the project. In the beginning, getting started and figuring out how to feed the product onto the door and into the T-slots was the most difficult part. The best method was to open the door fully,, spray a little WD 40 into the channels, and adjust the heights. The product is of good quality and good value. The products I used are good I will use them again. This is GGGG.

The quality of the product is superb
5/5

As of now, this is a 5 star rating since it appears solid based on its first impression I found installation to be extremely simple for my garage doors. My wife and I took no more than 3 minutes to remove two 9-foot garage doors without any lubricant. The old rubber gaskets were no problem at all. To compensate for expansion and contraction due to the weather, I cut it about 4 inches long. I was able to provide this extra slack because of the space between my garage door edge and the wheel track. In order to move along a bit more quickly, I had to ask my wife to help me feed the two "T"s into the slots underneath the garage doors as I pulled them straight from the start. If I had not used the gasket, it would have taken me longer since I would have had to pull then feed because the gasket comes flat and you have to roll it into half a circle for it to fit in the grooves under the door. The T's placed well in both ends, and I did some solid pulling on both sides to ensure they would stay in. There is no end in sight for them. My suggestion is that these things should be priced around 15 bucks, but if they last a long time, The bottom of my garage doors are completely sealed and I have no doubt they will last for years to come. Happy new year.

I found the job to be easy to do
5/5

It was a relatively easy job that required only a little liquid soap, as the other customer pointed out. My garage door, 17 feet high and two cars wide, has this sticker. Even though I was able to do it by myself, it would have been much faster if two people pulled, one feeding and the other pulling. 30 minutes were spent on it. Product is nice. It is about 1/4 inch wider than the old one, which is nice.

It is easy! Anyone can do it! As you may be aware, this is a project I had been putting off for a long time considering I am not a DIYer
5/5

As sure as I was that it would be a pain in the This is what needs to be done. Installing the product was my first step after receiving the product. In reading the enclosed instructions, I found it to be a much simpler process than I anticipated. My two 9' doors took me 30 minutes to install. Thanks for producing a quality product that's so easy to setup! My recommendation is to give it a try.

A garage with a sliding door This weather stripping is installed on the bottom half of the car
4/5

Previously, a garage door seal had been damaged. This product was used to replace it. If ordering, make sure you look at your existing track to see what seal type you need. There are two garage doors in my house, and the seals were different for each of them. 'Garage door seals' will find a variety of different types if you perform a simple search. In the event that you are unfamiliar with how to replace the seal, there are plenty of videos on YouTube to show you how, and the installation is quite simple. look at the old seal, you will usually notice that it is held in place at each end by a couple of small screws. Having removed the screws, you can then begin to pull the old seal away from the track, which can be accomplished in a number of ways. If the old track needs to be removed (which may take a bit of patience), clean it, straighten any bends in it, and install the new seal so it slides along the groove more easily. As a way to prepare the tracks, I cleaned them with dish soap and water. Also, you can use soap and water to get the new seal to slide into the grooves more easily. It may also be helpful to apply WD-40 to the tracks. In general, having a second person during the installation is very helpful as it makes securing the seals in place and sliding much easier especially when the garage door is wide. Use steel wool at each open end of the seal as this will assist in keeping animals out of the U-seal after it has been completed. Generally, shaped tubing is used.
