Product Description

A package of three aluminum T tracks (each 40 inches long), one rubber seal(10 feet), and a screw kit is included.
Install the Universal Garage Door Bottom Weather Seal and Retainer Kit by drilling the holes for you before installing. A great solution for wood garage doors or any type of flat bottom door.
In addition to being used in gates, sliding doors, entry doors and many other locations, this retainer can be used in many other places as well.
In addition to aluminum extrusions attached to the bottom of the door with screws, the seal insert is held in place by an aluminum extrusion. With a width of 1-5/8inch, stainless steel retainers are constructed of durable, black EPDM synthetic rubber. That makes them excellent for extreme temperatures (-40° to 240°F). If you keep the garage door open, your garage will be cleaner, drier, and quieter. It will not crack, dry out, break, or shift if installed correctly.
A kit of Aluminum Door Weatherstrip & Accessories will arrive with a 10 foot length of each of the three pieces every 40 inches. A kit of weather seals will follow in a 10 foot length with one piece per 10 feet. (Includes screws. 2) Package well in order to prevent deformed rubber seals. In every package you will find detailed installation instructions. To ensure that you have just the right length, every seal measures slightly longer.
The door is recommended for use on steel or wood roll up doors. Our doors are made with heavy duty aluminum and rubber seals for long-lasting When closed, the kit profile ensures a tight fit with your existing garage door - preventing cold drafts in the winter and keeping heat out in the summer, saving you money and energy. For the installation of this black garage door sealer kit, either a wrench or nail is needed

Questions & Answers

In terms of the gap between the floor and the bottom of the door, how much will it cover?

I. What it is about This is a 25-inch wide mattress. In a severely unequal floor, the rubber seal will not magically fill in the gaps, as it is relatively stiff. As an additional step, there is the threshold product, which takes up more space in the floor.

If the rubber seal is flat and laid flat on the track before installation, what is the width of ?

There are approximately 3 inches in length. Some may think that's too much.

Do you have a retainer that is wide?

I would like to know the width of the aluminum retainer 1 Approximately 5/8 inch

It is 1" thick on the bottom of my door. Could you please explain why the aluminum track can't be attached?

In spite of the flange remaining on the garage door, I did not replace it. I set the three pieces of track (5 tracks I think) one by one with blue tapem in place with holes predrilled in them. After that, I drilled into the bottom of the garage door by drilling through the track. The track should be lined up to the farthest distance when facing the outside of the garage door, otherwise it might get caught up on the "lip" of the garage, where the garage door returns to the garage. In order to thread the rubber "T" flange into the aluminum track, you had to thread it through a hole. To make the slide, two people will have to pitch in with some soapy water. It takes about 10 seconds to slide one piece through the garage. Both ends should be trimmed of excess. With a narrow screw driver, you can slide back part of the rubber if it comes out while you are working on the track. As well as the upward tension, the garage opener needed to be adjusted downwards as well. You should have two knobs, one to control downward pressure and one to control upward tension on the main drive unit. Here's why you should adjust the tension upward. I had to turn my standard opener by a half turn to accomplish both tensions since the door was fairly heavy when installed. When opened it prefered to retract following the weight, but my heavy opener didn't want to pull back down due to the weight. Also, on the bottom of the garage door, I installed a rubber weather strip against the inside of the You can get a $20 gift card at Home Depot. There are two sided tapes. The thickness of one-fourth inch when installed. The material expands to about 1 inch thick when wet and If you have a double garage door, it may require two rolls. *br>Following this I am satisfied with my problems based on the price of the project. *br> *br>The only issue you have that I did not is the thickness of the Make sure it is the correct track because the scale is different. As long as there was enough room, we could install the track as well as My original body cavity is still intact, and I left the rubber piece on the flange in place.

Assembly preparations are needed to be a bit more thorough This is a great replacement product, even though my door was bent (as was the old seal) and it was not that difficult to install the new one
5/5

install the track, I added additional holes at the ends of the aluminum track(s) to ensure greater rigidity, and I also pre-drilled the holes for each track hole To install and align the tracks as exact as possible, a small hole was drilled in the aluminum door. It was very easy to slide the rubber seal into the track with soapy water once the track had been installed. It is better to have the new seal contact the door trim and better seal the corner if I cut the excess seal material about 3/4 longer on each end. As of yet, the snows in Colorado haven't been able to blow under the door, so I'm no longer seeing light coming.

It's easy to trim and fit, and it's easy to install
5/5

Delivered what was advertised, and had everything I would need (except the tools, of course, but I wouldn't have expected that anyway). I had a little warp in my garage door, so the extra tall seal helped to cover up a lot of flaws. Everything went smoothly, the installation process followed my expectations, and everything worked as it should. It was not difficult to get a perfect fit because both rails and gasket had excess material.

The product is not to be used with A new weather seal was installed after the old one was torn off
3/5

Followed the instructions and installed the tracks. There were numerous screws that stripped before going flush, and I had to use needle nose clamping pliers to remove them. When the garage door came on, it would drop, hit the ground, and then go back up again. Using the screws to adjust the tension on the door opener, I was unable to get it to work properly. After some more effort, I decided to remove the entire product and go back to a simple replacement seal that just uses a nail to attach. The garage door company I used to do this for me did it for I was told that this product would not work with wood garage doors. So far, it was a complete waste of money in my opinion.

The soapy solution makes it easy to install on your own
5/5

It looks great and seals perfectly now that I have installed my new garage door seal. It was a DIY installation nobody helped me with it. To begin, I used blue tape to secure the seal retainer one by one. When I had to cut the last one a few inches, I used my grinder, but an ordinary hacksaw would also suffice. In the past, I left the rubber seal outside on my driveway so it could dry in the sun. I remember some people complained that it was difficult to slide the rubber down the whole way, especially if you were I made a spray bottle with a solution of dish soap and water. When I fed it on the track, I sprayed generously on the whole track and inside the rubber. I cut the rubber around 2 inches inside each end and tucked about 2 inches between each end, but everything went smoothly all the way except for the last foot which I had to pull a few inches at a time, then spray some soapy solution along the whole rubber one more time. The product should be recommended to anyone looking to replace their broken or worn bottom seal on a garage door.

Some garage doors are not compatible with this method
3/5

Seals the door around the corners, but does not expand on those corners. It actually seems that I have more gaps now than I did before I replaced the There will be yet another product I have to purchase to seal the garage.

It fits well and is sturdy
5/5

15 years after I installed my garage door, I decided it was time to replace the old, flattened and leaking door seal. The one on this page While drilling the screw holes, I followed the advice of other users and used masking tape to hold the sections in place. Furthermore, I cut 1/2" square x 3" heavy plastic strips to keep the sections of the garage door aligned when screwing them to the bottom. If the manufacturer could provide them with the package, it would be very useful. most difficult part of installing this vinyl was sliding the U-shaped piece of vinyl The strip should be shaped into the grooves. The first part of the track was able to be slid into the track by myself however, the next four feet required two people to slide into the Hurricane season is upon us now, so I'm all set!.

Oh my gosh
3/5

I had to install it in hell. As this item came in pieces, there were four of them, I had to start at one end of the rubber piece and pull it through. If I say pull, I mean that you need to get a hernia pulled. In order for the metal track to slide in, we had to soap up the metal with soap. DIFFICULT TO DO WITH ONE PERSON! To pull the rubber ends together, one must line them up, and the other must align them. This is a real pain in the rear. Since I was trying to fix my garage, I felt like I was being punished. The only reason I would have said "screw it!" is that I wasn't yet half way through the project. Seriously, this is terrible! As a more positive note, it does its job well and looks great. All I can say is, "Don't do it. ".

This seal is the best way to keep mice out of your shop
5/5

It was exactly what I had been looking for to fill a 30-lb gap in my garage door The year is My shop was a mess due to an old cement floor that had settled over time. Mice had been infesting my shop for a long time. Probably the easiest product to install, with an extra foot and a half, in case your door is a little off. My recommendation is to use this product.
