Wear resistance and weather protection are provided by Marine Grade T316 Stainless Steel (better than 304 Stainless Steel).

The 7x7 cable is made up of seven groups of seven strands braided together, making it softer than the 1x19 structural stainless steel cable. Most other metal braided wire ropes pale in comparison.

T316 cable outperforms 304 stainless steel and galvanized stainless steel cable in terms of corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, wear resistance, and rust resistance. Seawater salts are protected from corrosion by adding the chemical component Mo.

Ideal for both outdoor and indoor cable railing projects, as well as industrial and marine applications, traction, tensioning, strapping, landscape and architectural applications, and DIY deck cable railing Balustrade handrail systems.

My stair railing turned out to be fantastic

The cable was the perfect length and fit the crimp on the ends perfectly. It was silky smooth, and the material appears to be of high quality. It's what I used for my basement interior stairs. So I'm not sure how resistant this stainless steel is to rust. br>br>I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I wish I had inquired first

The quality of the strands was much lower than expected. I expected a tight, smoothed, almost polished strand, but it wasn't. Even though the pictures appear to be better, it was my fault for not asking. It also has a hard time flexing without causing a lot of strand distortion. It's a bit like a spider web. I was just looking for something with a little more quality.

I'm not sure this is what they're saying, but it started rusting right away. Certainly not up to the task of being used in a marine environment. This product was a huge letdown for me.

I'm using this wire to hang 40 feet of outdoor lights, and it's working great so far. I had no fraying issues with the 100' length, and it looks and feels great; however, because I live in a wet climate, I'll have to see how long it lasts in terms of rusting, as I didn't want to spend the extra money on rubber coating at this time.

The cable is in good condition. It was used to make a 5-foot tall structure. This is a 12' tall wire trellis. Instead of using wire cutters, consider using a cutoff wheel.
