HC26A is a better alternative to HC26P. For years, I've been using a Honeywell whole-house humidifier. 26A was always the preferred option. Last time I bought 26P, which is supposed to be mold-resistant, but I had more mold on it in 2 1/2 months than I ever had on any 26A, which I change once a year. Please look at the photos. The 26A and 26P humidifiers are identical in size and fit the same humidifiers. A thin plastic coating is present on the 26P mesh.
It's a good value and a perfect fit for my humidifier, but keep in mind that it's made of paper, so you may need to replace it frequently. For this reason, I am unlikely to purchase it again and will instead seek out a product of higher quality and durability. However, if you have the ability to change it, it could be 2- If you can do it three times per season, go for it.
Humidifier with a timer set to 365 days. In my powered humidifier, this was an inexpensive replacement for a "dead" himidifier pad. This item only includes the pad; the frame that surrounds the pad is not included. You'll need to disassemble the original pad's frame before replacing it with this one. It took around 5 minutes to complete the installation. The humidifier now functions as it did when it was first installed. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
The Aprilaire 400 series whole-house humidifier has a high-quality replacement filter. These filters are identical to the genuine Aprilaire filters in terms of fit and performance, and they last just as long. The main issue we have is hard water buildup, which necessitates three different treatments. During each season, there are four water panels. So far, none of these panels have developed mold, which is a huge plus.
These third-party panels aren't quite right. They have a proclivity for accumulating black and pink mold. If you decide to install one, make sure to keep an eye on it. Even though my water quality is excellent, I am still seeing a lot of mold within 30 days of installation, as others have reported. These are not recommended if you are sensitive to air quality.
I'm not sure if it's the pad, but I can't seem to get up to set point. (However, I have my setpoint set high , 50% high) this is the first replacement pad I've purchased and my initial installation was wrong. Once you've done that, you're ready to move on. The humidity level in the house is just right. It's possible that a humidity sensor will be required to investigate.
Using the pad that came with my HE280 resulted in flakes of pad falling all over the outside of the furnace, inside the humidifier housing, and other places. br>br>I'm not sure what it was made of that made it so inferior to its replacement, but there's no reason why this pad shouldn't come standard with the unit instead of that flaky hunk of junk.
This humidifier's replacement part is an exact OEM match. This is the second year I've bought the same product from Amazon, and I've had no problems, so I'm planning on doing so again next year. Because the cost is comparable to that of big box stores, the convenience outweighs the effort.
