My whole house humidifier is an Aprilaire model 400, which is connected to the ducting of my HVAC system. The Aprilaire unit, now in its 6th year of operation, has never had an issue with the water that comes from our municipal water system, and I only use it during the winter heating months in New England. Clean incoming water is directed through a honeycomb filter pad in the unit. The heated furnace air then passes through this panel and into the house's distributing ducts. I don't see where you say which Aprilaire model you're using, and I'm not sure how we can continue this conversation if you're using the same model as me. br>Suffice to say, if you're using a Model 400 or 400A, any odor you detect isn't due to the unit's fault - If you change the water pad every 2 or 3 months during the heating season, you should be fine.
This isn't a filter for your air. It's a filter for humidifier water flow. It makes no difference if one end is higher than the other.
No, the number 45 water panel and the 700 humidifier are not compatible.

According to the box's instructions, a color strip depicting the side that should be on top should be included. There are no color stripes on any of my water panels. br>When I called Aprilaire, I was told that, despite the fact that the box specifies a color scheme, this model can be installed in either direction.
These filters aren't made of metal like the ones I had before. I used to have to change the panels about four times per heating season with the previous panels and without the water filter. I've only switched this type twice so far, and I think I could have gotten away with it for another month. I wanted to know if the changes I made were effective. The installation of the water filter was straightforward, and it saved me both time and money. The inline water filter will help if your water is hard or scaley. I'm not going to tell my family what was in the panel tray when I cleaned it. Best of luck in the future.
During the winter, we use an Aprilaire 400 whole-house humidifier to keep our throats and skin from drying out due to the forced-air heating. We've always ordered replacements for this water panel because it works so well. I only wish they lasted a little longer than three months.
The filters were delivered on time, but they were a little battered. The filters' corners had been crushed. No shipping box was included in Amazon's shipment of the flimsy Aprilaire box. I don't have time to return them, so it's not a deal breaker for me. Another issue is that there is no indication on which side of the humidifier these filters should be placed in. Every Aprilaire 400 filter replacement instruction I've read states that the filter has a colored mark on the end to indicate which side is up. Is it possible that this is no longer the case? I'm sick of Aprilaire's game of guessing. I'm not sure if I installed them in the correct order. It's a complete pain.
These filers are ideal for my humidifier model 400. Authentic manufacturer's filters Keep in mind that the manufacturer recommends changing your filters twice per heating season, so you'll only need to buy these once a year. which isn't a bad thing. I'll be purchasing more in the future.
I tried to keep the filter on for a few months longer than it should have lasted - It had hard water growth and mold, both of which had begun to make us sick. I washed out the entire filter assembly and replaced it with one of the replacements, and it now works perfectly. I'm thinking about changing the filter once a month to keep it fresh and keep us healthy.
These "water pads" are an annual maintenance item for my entire house forced hot air system, so I order them every year. br>Winter would be a long period of breathing bone dry air without the built-in humidifier. It takes a toll on a person's skin, lungs, eyes, and overall sense of well-being. being. The hygienic air is fantastic, and the water pads keep the system in top shape.
This item was not shipped in an Amazon box, which I found to be inconvenient. I'm unable to read the instructions because of the mailing stickers on the package. However, the cost was reasonable. I've previously purchased this item for use with my humidifier.
