We already have a children's animal humidifier, and we plan to purchase these as well. These are filters that need to be replaced.
Well. It might be worth a shot. When you drink it, does it have a hard water taste? I'd get the filter anyway, just in case the water sits and minerals still get through the brita and the filter doesn't remove everything. At the very least, you can rest assured that the water you drink and the air you breathe are both safe!
Dear Sir/Madame,br> I don't add new water to the mix. I think it's a waste because I run it until it's empty, which takes about a week depending on how often you let it run. After that, I'll give it a vinegar rinse, let it dry, then refill it with fresh water and use it for the next week. I hope this has been of assistance to you.
The filter isn't necessary if you use distilled or filtered water.

We've been buying these for our Crane humidifiers every year and have been very happy with them. This year, we purchased three more humidifiers, and they all stopped working in the middle of the night. It would start working again if we picked up the water container and replaced it, but only for a short time before shutting down again. I contacted Crane to explain the situation, and they informed me that the problem had been resolved. She said I'd have to empty the water each morning, let the filter air out during the day, and then fill it back up at night because she designed the filters and they need to dry after each use. The filters have become "oversaturated" as we simply leave our water in there and replace it when it runs out. I wouldn't recommend buying this product unless you're willing to empty your humidifiers every morning. Crane customer service was extremely helpful, and they promised to send me replacement filters if airing them out didn't work. It irritates me that I have to empty the humidifiers every morning in order for the product to function properly.
The crane drop humidifier is not compatible with this item. This is an incorrect description. If you already have a humidifier, you'll need this. On ebay, I was able to get it for half the cost. It's incredible that a small part like this costs two-thirds of the price of the entire humidifier on this website.
I had previously purchased this item three times and received the white plastic filter, which worked perfectly in my Drop Humidifier. I just unpacked my most recent humidifier filters, which I bought in the spring when I put the humidifiers away for the season. These are made of blue plastic and do not fit into the Drop Humidifier perfectly. I got it far enough in that it works, but the seal isn't perfect. Another commenter mentioned that you can get the same product directly from Crane for the same price, so I'll give that a shot next time.
This is the filter that my humidifier requires, according to my research. I bought it twice, thinking the first time it didn't work was a fluke, but the second one also didn't work. The humidifier leaks all over the table as water leaks out of it.
Although this filter fit my Crane mister perfectly, the flame on my stovetop's gas burners turned orange after a day of use. It was, after all, a Sunday evening. Because I had no idea what was causing it, it was extremely frightening. I was on the verge of dialing 9-1-1. Then I discovered on the website of my local gas company that using tap water in a humidifier or mister can cause this. So I turned off the mister, and the flame had returned to its original blue color by morning. In the afternoon, I tried turning it on again, but the flame had turned orange. The filter isn't removing enough minerals, it appears. br>It's also very inconvenient that one of my stove's burners' ignition no longer works properly. I'm waiting for a response from Crane customer service, and I'm hoping that I won't have to pay for an expensive stove repair. br>In conclusion - Purchase is not recommended.
And they were selling them for $25 each, which is when I decided to buy them! I spent $51 on two and feel like a complete moron for squandering my money!.
This is a perfect fit and does not interfere with the humidifier's function in any way. We didn't want to use distilled water, but unfiltered water in these humidifiers produces a horrible sticky white dust from hard water minerals that gets everywhere - furniture and the floor NO WHITE DUST WITH THIS FILTER! So, so lovely!! This is a product that I wholeheartedly endorse.
I believe it is only effective with a limited number of people. I was hoping to use it to get rid of the white dust I get from our salt-softened water, but I really need one that gets rid of the salty steam it produces. Just makes cleaner steam so I don't have to deal with the white salty dust all over the place.
