Rancilio Silvia Espresso Machine Repair Kit.

Since I bought my Silvia new (about 10 years ago), I hadn't changed the group head gasket or screen. I had no choice but to replace the old gasket because it had started to leak. This replacement kit includes everything you'll need to get back on your feet: That's all there is to it. Taking out the old gasket (which took about 10 minutes) was the most difficult part of the process. I installed the new gasket after cleaning it thoroughly with Cafeza and a nylon-bristled brush. Other reviews stated that the old screen and screw were reused, but I saw no reason why the new ones couldn't be used instead. I pulled a shot after replacing the gasket, screen, and screw, and it made me wish I had done it sooner. Not only does the group head no longer leak, but I also have a lot more pressure going through it; There will be a lot more crema as a result of this. This "tune up" was quick, simple, and greatly improved the performance of my machine; if you haven't replaced your gasket in the last year or two, I would recommend purchasing this kit and replacing it right away.

There are two models of Rancilio Silvia, and this fix is ineffective on the older model. br>br>My machine is over a decade old, and the new gasket that came with it will not fit. The screw is too short, and the filter isn't recessed like it is on my older machine. br>br>If you have a model 2 machine, don't buy this.

We have Miss Sylvia, a model. I'm assuming it's V1 because there are no versions listed. We purchased this kit without being aware of the issues with the various versions. Approximately 15 years have passed since we purchased our machine. The new screw was the same length as the old one, and the gasket fit perfectly. However, despite the fact that the old screen had been stretched and abused, the new one was slightly different from the old one. We attempted to assemble it in the same manner as the old one, as we do every week when we clean out our machine, but the screw was too short to engage the threads. Finally, instead of including the spacer that was required on the old set, we installed the screen without it. Tada! Success! There are no leaks, and it works exactly as it should. Despite the confusion over the screen/spacer situation, we completed it in less than 20 minutes.

Kanen Coffee was my source for this. The gasket is a genuine Rancilio replacement part (it bears the Rancilio part number and logo). It's possible that the screen is as well. I haven't seen an imprint in my life. The necessary screw was included in the screen. Everything is in its proper place and functions properly. What I appreciated the most was Kanen sending me an email with a link to an article on the Fixit website that detailed step-by-step instructions for disassembling the old parts, cleaning them, and assembling the new parts. Despite the fact that the procedure is simple, it aided in the making of errors. If I hadn't received the email, I would have probably started, made a few mistakes, and then looked for help on the internet. Thank you for going out of your way; I appreciate it. br>br>When replacing the machine, I recommend having machine cleaner on hand. In order to install the new gasket, you must first clean the headunit thoroughly. It took me about an hour to complete the process, including cleaning all of the components. It was well worth the time and effort. With the new gasket, there will be no more water dripping. And, having replaced the old, cloaked screen with a new one, the brewing process has improved significantly.

After purchasing a used machine, I discovered that it continued to emit brown water even after cleaning. This kit was purchased, and the gasket and screen were replaced. Coffee splattered the old screen, which was covered in brown sludge. It's worth noting that the old screen was sealed with some kind of clear gunk/rubber to the massive chunk of metal that connects it to the machine. This gunk was filthy, but there was nothing else in the kit that could replace it. If you wanted it clean, I'd guess you'd have to replace the chunk of metal that was covered in gunk. Because it was such a tight fit, removing the rubber gasket proved to be a challenge. When I removed the old rubber, it was clear that it was worn out and would not provide the same level of protection as the new rubber. Once you've removed the gasket, the installation is very simple. It's a no-brainer to invest in this kit. I think I'll make it a habit to replace it every few years, since the machine should be disassembled for cleaning anyway.

This kit includes everything you'll need to get your Rancilio up and running like it did when it was brand new. The gasket is the most crucial component. It needs to be replaced on a regular basis; my machine was leaking, and the entire portafilter unit would sometimes disengage while I was making espresso, which was a disaster! I couldn't get the portafilter back in and assumed I'd have to buy a new machine, which would cost a lot of money. So, using this kit, I attempted to repair it myself, and it worked perfectly. In the future, I may require a new machine, but not right now!.

20 . Since at least 15 years, we've had a Rancillio Silvia. We've had one of these for 20 years and keep one on hand "just in case. " When we use the back up, we order a new one right away. This is only the second time a replacement has been made. They last for a long time and perform flawlessly.
