Bialetti 6964 was my first purchase, but it was too big for me, so I returned it. I had assumed I was the proud owner of a 12-foot yacht. maker of cups Then, for my 9-year-old daughter, I ordered the proper Bialetti 6962. maker of cups The 6962 (not 6964) has a 3 1/8-inch (79-mm) outside diameter. The size of the 6964 is a little bigger. approximately 3 3/8" (85 mm)
The ring I bought fit the 12 cup mocha pot perfectly. I doubt it would fit an 18 cup, but I have no way of knowing.
Mine is 3 3/16" in diameter on the outside.

This item has been ordered four times, each time in a different size. It's been over a decade since I've had a coffee pot. The pot's images and figures have faded. I was stumped as to what size replacement gasket to get. I was just estimating the number of cups of coffee it would make. Horrible. Figures: It's a genuine Italian product! (Because I'm Italian, I'm able to make fun of it. ).
When I finally figured out how to size the Moka Pot I'd bought over 25 years ago (I'd forgotten it was a 9, 12, or 120k cups), I was ecstatic. For decades, the original gasket had kept me in near-daily coffee bliss, but it was beginning to show its age (cracks and chips). The replacements are a perfect fit and can be removed for cleaning and storage with ease. I'm hoping they last as long as the original.
I'm very disappointed in the brand; I have two stovetop espresso makers, and neither of them works properly, despite the fact that Bialetti claims to be "the best. " It's too early to tell if the new gasket will make a difference because I just put it in.
Plastic has such a strong odor that I am afraid to use it right now.
Finding a store that sells such a product is a difficult task. I was able to find this gasket, which came with a replacement metal filter and two other gaskets, at a great price thanks to Amazon; the shipping charge was about the same as the gasket/filter set itself, but it was still worth it given that a 12 to 14 cup stainless steel espresso machine can cost many times more. My espresso maker continues to work as well as it did when I first bought it, and with the three gaskets and new filter, it should last me many more years.
It was necessary for me to spend a certain amount of money. It's what it is, and there's nothing you can do about it. Just to get the metal filter, I had to pay $7. The rubber gaskets are an embarrassment. br>The holes in this filter are so small that you can only clean it with the tip of a sewing needle, and there must be hundreds of them. I'm trying to figure out how to get my old one clean again. Who knows what, a sonic cleaner, and who knows what else. br>I can offer solid advice on where to find and buy silicone gaskets. I was using rubberbr>gaskets before, and this was a huge improvement. Several years ago, it was changed. I get them from an unexpected source on the internet. br>.
This arrived quickly and was exactly what I required. I was concerned because I had read that a large number of people had ordered the incorrect item. I thought I'd already left a review, but it's been a long time. Anyway, it's been over a year (I believe), and the first seal is still working fine; I haven't tried the others yet, and I drink a lot of coffee.
I'm sorry if I posted a negative review by accident. This was purchased to replace a Wees Beyond coffee pot's filter and gasket. I took a chance that it would fit, and it did, even better than the original! Bialetti has a reputation for producing high-quality products, which we have come to expect. The only regret I have is that I did not purchase the Bialetti pot sooner. Anyone who owns a Wees Beyond or Bialetti pot should get this replacement part!.
